Stiga DNA Pro M

Rubber description:

Stiga DNA Pro M is an offensive table tennis rubber that has garnered attention for its balance of speed, spin, and control, making it particularly appealing to intermediate and advanced players alike. With a speed rating of 156 and a spin rating of 134, it offers a dynamic performance while maintaining respectable consistency (8.9) and a manageable weight of 5.3. This rubber utilizes a tensor technology that enhances responsiveness and catapult effect, allowing players to execute aggressive shots with relative ease.

The rubber’s tackiness is rated a 2, indicating a moderate grip that aids in generating spin, especially on serves and topspin strokes. However, players have noted that while it performs well in ideal conditions, caution is essential when brushing the ball; excessive contact can lead to unintentional errors, resulting in the ball flying off the table. Overall, its control rating of 78 suggests that this rubber is user-friendly, making it suitable for those refining their technique or strategic play.

In terms of durability, the DNA Pro M scores a 5.7, which indicates that while it can withstand regular play, players should be mindful of its lifespan, especially since the tackiness may wear off more quickly than desired. For those seeking alternatives, comparisons have been made to high-end choices like the Tenergy 05, with many players suggesting that the DNA Pro M offers a good balance of control and spin at a more accessible price point. Overall, Stiga DNA Pro M is an excellent choice for players looking to enhance their gameplay without sacrificing control.

This rubber provides good spin and speed, making it a very safe choice for backhand play. It is quite bouncy on carbon blades, so a 7-ply wood blade or an innerforce-style blade is recommended. Be cautious when brushing the rubber, as it may become overly bouncy.

This rubber is an absolute class. Used at 2.1mm thickness for 6-7 months on the Drinkhall Power Spin Carbon blade, it performed exceptionally well. On the backhand, it was an absolute beast, providing immense spin and power. On the forehand, it was remarkably solid and reliable.

The rubber is easy to use, making it suitable for intermediate players. It offers an excellent balance of spin, speed, and control. This makes it one of the best rubbers available for players of this skill level.
