Stiga Boost TS

Stiga Boost TS - package

Rubber description:

The Stiga Boost TS is a tensor rubber characterized by its very soft, sensitive sponge and distinct acoustic properties. It is widely recognized for producing a loud, crisp “click” sound during hard contact, similar to the feel of traditional speed-glued rubbers. Designed for offensive play, it provides a noticeable catapult effect that enables fast, explosive drives and loops, particularly when paired with stiff or composite blades.

Performance Characteristics

  • Speed and Spin: The rubber offers high speed and strong spin potential, making it well-suited for mid-to-long distance attacking. The trajectory is generally perceived as medium to medium-low, requiring active adjustments in the short game due to the lively, bouncy nature of the sponge.
  • Control and Feel: While it offers excellent feedback and control for an offensive rubber, the sensitivity of the soft sponge means it can be demanding. Players with a “soft” touch can utilize it effectively for both blocking and delicate play, though it requires precise timing.
  • Surface and Durability: The topsheet is of high quality and provides good grip. However, users should note that the exceptionally soft sponge is fragile and can be difficult to remove from a blade without sustaining damage. Proper maintenance, including the use of protective film, is recommended to preserve the surface properties over time.

Spiny, fast rubber for the beginner-intermediate player!

This rubber can surprise you depending on the type of blade you are using with it. It gets extremely fast with fast blades. I have gotten the best loops with this rubber as the type of spin it produces is much more than Boost TX on Hinoki Blade.

This rubber gets a good grip on the ball and is good for both FH and BH. I think it is important to make sure you clean your rubber and put a tacky protective sheet (I used Nittaku) so that the rubber does not lose its tackiness that helps to develop that grip.

One major problem with this rubber is when you take it off from your blade, then chances are that you will end up damaging the rubber because of the super soft sponge. The throw angle of this rubber is much higher than Boost TX, so you need to adjust your bat’s angle to make sure that the ball stays close to the net.

The sound of this rubber will surprise your opponent. For beginners, I suggest putting this rubber on a def or def+ blade.

However, one thing that really disappoints me about this rubber is that it is almost impossible to remove water-based glue from it without damaging the sponge. This rubber has the most fragile sponge compared to all the other rubbers I have ever tried.
