Stiga Boost TX

Stiga Boost TX - package

Rubber description:

This rubber is classified as a tensor, offering a fast, springy, and offensive playing experience. It is characterized by a medium-to-hard sponge that provides a distinct, crisp feel, allowing for a balance of speed and control. Its overall performance is linear, meaning it provides a consistent response without an excessive or unpredictable catapult effect.

Performance Characteristics

  • Speed and Spin: Designed for high-level attacking play, the rubber delivers excellent speed and significant spin potential, suitable for loops, smashes, and serves. While it is highly capable in the offensive game, its spin production is most effective when the ball is hit with enough force to engage the sponge.
  • Throw Angle: It features a medium-to-low throw angle. This makes it particularly effective for flat hitting, blocking, and driving, though it may require adjustments in technique when looping heavy underspin balls.
  • Control and Dwell: The rubber offers a good sense of touch, providing enough dwell time for precise service and short-game work. Its predictable nature makes it a reliable choice for players who prefer a direct, intuitive response during rallies.

Suitability

The rubber is highly versatile, finding frequent use as both a forehand and backhand solution. It excels in close-to-the-table play, such as blocking, counter-hitting, and flicking. Due to its balanced characteristics, it is often favored by offensive players who prioritize accuracy and consistent power over extreme, non-linear catapult behavior. Users report good durability, though the edges may show signs of wear over extended periods of heavy use.

This rubber is very fast and light, making it suitable for attackers only.

I bought this because I believed the sponge was medium, but it’s actually medium-hard or possibly a bit firmer. The spin is not great for low power shots, as the ball cannot sink into the rubber. This rubber generates insufficient spin for my efforts.

The throw is very low, making looping difficult. However, it is fast. It is challenging to achieve an arc with the ball like you can with products such as Tenergry 05. This rubber has similar speed and spin qualities to DHS NEO SKYLINE TG 2.

It’s important to note that I have only used this rubber for a day. I may update this review as I gain more experience with it.

The rubber is of top quality, but it has a low throw, which makes it difficult to loop effectively. This makes it a good choice for smashers, blockers, and power players, but not for players who rely on looping. Overall, the rubber is of good quality, but it may not be suitable for all players.
