The Stiga Calibra LT Spin is a highly regarded table tennis rubber known for its impressive combination of spin and speed, making it a favorite among aggressive players. With a speed rating of 95 and a spin rating of 92, this rubber excels at delivering powerful shots while maintaining an excellent feel for controlled play. The medium-soft sponge offers great feedback and dwell time, allowing players to produce consistent loops, aggressive topspins, and deceptive serves. Players often describe the rubber as providing a delightful balance between speed and spin, making it suitable for both close-to-the-table exchanges and mid-distance rallies.
The tackiness of the Calibra LT Spin is rated at 2.4, which offers a significant grip on the ball for generating spin, yet it is not excessively tacky like some other options available on the market. The rubber weighs approximately 3.5, placing it in the medium category; this helps with maneuverability while still lending enough heft to cater to powerful strokes. Players have noted that, while this rubber performs admirably, it requires careful maintenance to extend its lifespan, as its durability has received mixed reviews; some players report signs of wear within months, whereas others find it lasting longer with proper care.
For those considering alternatives, the Stiga Calibra LT Spin stands as a competitive option against other well-known rubbers like Butterfly’s Tenergy series. While it may not completely replace Tenergy for some players, its unique qualities and performance characteristics make it worth trying, especially for those who appreciate a paddle that emphasizes spin and precision. Overall, the Calibra LT Spin is praised for its versatility, making it an excellent choice for both forehand and backhand play among intermediate and advanced players alike.
Horriblemente mala goma. De partida la abres y parece que viniera quemada como espejo. El efecto paupérrimo.
I used Caliber LT Spin on my forehand, testing it on a Stiga Clipper CR non-WRB blade. This rubber doesn’t give you a hard spin, but it provides a lot of control and bounces well. I believe this rubber is suitable for tactical loop players who have good ball placement. However, it is important to note that this rubber is relatively easy to break, so it requires proper care. Be sure to clean it regularly after practice. I recommend this rubber for consideration.
In my opinion, this rubber is not good for short games, as it is too bouncy. The durability is also not good. However, it still has a good speed.
