Tibhar Nimbus

Rubber description:

Tibhar Nimbus is a high-performance table tennis rubber known for its exceptional speed and spin capabilities, making it a favored choice among aggressive players. With a speed rating of 9.1, it delivers an impressive velocity that suits offensive styles of play perfectly. The rubber employs tensor technology for enhanced elasticity, contributing to a powerful catapult effect. However, players should be mindful as this effect can lead to some unpredictability in control.

In terms of tackiness, Tibhar Nimbus scores a moderate 3.4. This allows for decent spin generation, particularly for looping and smashing, although some users have found it less suitable for delicate shots like pushes or blocks. The rubber has a sponge hardness of 5.1, providing a balance between sensitivity during play and solid power output. It’s lightweight, with a weight rating of 4.5, which keeps the overall racket feel agile while allowing for quick maneuvers.

Durability can be a concern; while players have noted satisfactory performance for about 1.5 months, it tends to wear out more quickly with intensive use. Thus, it may not be the best choice for those seeking long-lasting rubbers. Alternatives to Tibhar Nimbus include more traditional rubbers like Tenergy and Bryce, which may offer better spin control, but lack the same raw speed. Overall, Tibhar Nimbus is an excellent rubber for players with an aggressive style, looking to elevate their game with fast attacks and significant spin, albeit with the trade-off of requiring a bit more experience to harness its maximum potential.

Uncontrollable Rubber

This rubber is among the fastest (9.7) that I have used. However, it has an unpredictable and unpleasant catapult effect that makes it difficult to control.

No Sponge Construction

This rubber does not have a sponge layer. It is made of an elastic caoutchouc material that is suitable for entry-level players.

Strengths

  • Smashes
  • Topspins

Weaknesses

  • Cuts
  • Blocks
  • Loops

Price

The price of this rubber is not justified at $10, in my opinion.

This is a very soft rubber. It provides good control and lots of spin. I have used it on my backhand for more than a year now. It is a pretty good rubber for beginners.

Excellent rubber for a fast game, offering nice spin speed and excellent control. I read somewhere that it is not so good for short games, but I disagree, as I have not encountered any issues. A really nice rubber for offensive games.
