Tibhar Volcano
Rubber description:
Overview
This is a classic rubber (non-tensor) designed primarily for beginners and recreational players focusing on allround and control-oriented play. It features a completely non-tacky topsheet and a soft sponge, offering a forgiving playing experience that is helpful for developing fundamental techniques. While it lacks the high-end spin generation and raw speed required by advanced offensive players, it provides a stable platform for learning stroke mechanics.
Performance Characteristics
- Spin and Speed: The rubber is characterized by moderate speed and a limited ability to generate heavy spin. Because of this, it is not ideal for high-level topspin loops or aggressive serves, but it remains capable of executing standard offensive strokes.
- Control and Dwell: The rubber excels in control, particularly when blocking powerful attacks or receiving incoming spin. Its topsheet is notably insensitive to opponent spin, making it a reliable choice for neutralising serves.
- Tactile Feel: The topsheet has a distinct feel that is soft and non-elastic, which some users compare to the properties of anti-spin rubber, allowing for controlled, deliberate ball placement.
- Suitability: It is most effective as a training tool for beginners learning the game. It is well-suited for active recreational play, counter-smashing, and blocking, but may eventually become a limiting factor as a player’s technical requirements for speed and spin rotation increase.

I will talk about the newer Volcano+ version. This rubber has a very interesting soft but not elastic topsheet that feels like an antispin topsheet. However, the rubber is overall spiny enough for all offensive strokes. Volcano+ is quite good for learning normal topspin loop and topspin drives technique.
This rubber can block short powerful attacks like antispin. The sponge is soft and slow, but I do not recommend this rubber for chopping.

Faithfully in this firm and in its products (I acquired blade and rubbers), I had a very bad experience. So I preferred to move to Chinese Palio and Sanwei. Now, I began again to enjoy playing so well that my opponents are amazed and often angry. Now, when I want to hit, I can hit! When I want to touch, I can touch! When I want to send the ball to a specific corner, I send it perfectly to that corner! It is no longer a lottery!

As a beginner, I used this on my forehand, and Tibhar Vari Spin on my backhand. At the time, I thought this rubber was mediocre, but revisiting it, my opinion has changed for the worse. I do not like it. It is not a good choice for intermediate or advanced players. If you’re a beginner, you’re better off going for something like MarkV.
