Yasaka Mark V GPS
Rubber description:
This is a classic rubber characterized by a soft, lightweight sponge and a grippy, durable topsheet. It is designed for consistency and ease of use, providing a balanced experience between offensive and all-round play. Because it lacks the volatile characteristics often found in modern high-tension rubbers, it offers a predictable and intuitive feel that is well-suited for players who are still developing their technique.
Playing Characteristics
- Speed and Spin: Offers moderate speed and reliable spin potential. While it may not satisfy those requiring high-end professional offensive output, it is highly effective for controlled looping and consistent placement.
- Control and Dwell: The softer sponge creates a noticeable dwell time, which facilitates excellent ball feedback. This makes the rubber particularly effective for blocking, touch play, and building controlled offensive sequences.
- Throw Angle: Features a medium throw angle, allowing for a versatile trajectory that is safe for backhand mechanics and reliable for varied shot selection.
- Suitability: Primarily regarded as an entry-to-intermediate level rubber, it is an excellent choice for a backhand setup or as an all-round forehand option for those prioritizing accuracy over raw power.

I played with this rubber for a few months on a Stiga All Around Classic after using a Vari Spin. I applied it on both sides in 1.8mm thickness.
In many ways, this is a good rubber, but I wasn’t fully convinced. I didn’t feel a great sense of control with it, nor did I find a satisfying feeling during play. While I believe this rubber is not a mistake to use, I now find it more interesting to explore something more modern, such as any entry-level tensor rubber.
Just for precision, I tend to think that a slower rubber is better than one that is too fast.

Dit is een prima aanvallend rubber met veel controle. Ik gebruik het op mijn forehand.
Hiermee speel ik al jarenlang. Als recreatiespeler vernieuw ik het rubber één keer per jaar.

For players seeking a safe and easy-to-play backhand rubber, this is a great choice. The long-lasting topsheet offers excellent grip and spin. While the speed is not exceptional for a classic rubber, it is still quite satisfactory.
It is advisable to choose the maximum thickness unless you are a beginner. This rubber has a medium throw and long dwell time, making it fantastic for blocking and creating a controlled backhand loop. It truly is a versatile, all-around classic rubber.
Compared to the regular Mark V, this rubber is slightly slower but produces a bit more spin due to its softer sponge. It plays well with you and does not have a mind of its own, unlike many tensor rubbers.
