Yasaka Original is a classic Japanese rubber that has been popular among table tennis players for decades. It is known for its excellent control, good spin, and solid speed. With a speed rating of 72 and a spin rating of 72, the Yasaka Original offers a balanced playing experience that is suitable for a wide range of players, from beginners to advanced.
The rubber's control rating of 88 makes it very easy to handle, and its moderate tackiness (2.4) provides excellent grip on the ball. This makes it ideal for players who value precision and consistency in their shots. The sponge hardness of 2.8 provides a good balance between speed and control, while the gears rating of 4.6 indicates that the rubber can generate good spin when needed.
The Yasaka Original has a relatively low throw angle of 5, which means that the ball tends to stay low and close to the table. This makes it a good choice for players who prefer a controlled, looping style of play. The rubber also has good consistency (9), meaning that it performs consistently even when used for long periods of time.
In terms of durability, the Yasaka Original is rated at 7.4, which is slightly below average. However, users have reported that the rubber lasts for a reasonable amount of time, especially when properly cared for. Overall, the Yasaka Original is a versatile rubber that offers excellent control, good spin, and solid speed. It is a good choice for players of all levels who are looking for a reliable and consistent rubber.
You can do anything with this rubber, but at a subdued level since it only comes in 1.0mm.
Touch and control are fantastic. Great for a defensive player.
I bought this rubber to replace the dead inverted rubber that came with a pre-assembled racket from Dick’s Sporting Goods. There is a big difference! I love this rubber. The feel is good, and I can mount a pretty decent attack with good control. It’s best for flat hits and blocks, and it’s good for the return of serve. I can spin with it, but not as well as a friend who uses Sriver. I think it’s great for beginners who need to develop their strokes before moving on to the faster and spinnier rubbers.
This is a good control rubber. With the right type of blade, you can block the hardest ripped shots with good touch and placement. Drives and loops are consistent, although notably slower than a rubber like Mark V or Sriver.
This rubber is a good choice if you play close to the table or for backhand only. The shots lose some power when you step back from the table (although most of this is probably due to the Gambler Kevlar Oversize blade), but the consistency and ease of placement from mid-distance is good. I have not been as consistent at mid-distance using the 729 rubbers on the same blade.
