Yasaka Xtend SD

Rubber description:

Yasaka Xtend SD is a high-performance table tennis rubber designed for serious players seeking exceptional speed, spin, and control. This rubber is suitable for intermediate and advanced players who prioritize spin and speed.

Yasaka Xtend SD features a tacky top sheet that provides excellent grip and feel, enabling players to generate heavy spin and execute precise shots. The 4.2 tackiness rating allows for maximum control, making it easier to direct the ball with precision and accuracy. Moreover, the rubber's speed rating of 110, coupled with its 120 spin rating, makes it a formidable weapon for aggressive players who seek to dominate the table.

The Yasaka Xtend SD rubber is equipped with a medium-hard sponge, rated at 3 on the hardness scale. This sponge provides a dynamic feel and ample power without compromising control. With a throw angle of 4 degrees, the rubber offers a balanced trajectory that suits various playing styles. The overall rating of 9.1, based on user reviews, reflects the rubber's exceptional performance and versatility.

However, it's worth noting that the Yasaka Xtend SD is not a tensor rubber, meaning it relies on mechanical grip rather than built-in tension for spin and speed. This characteristic may not suit players accustomed to tensor rubbers' catapult effect. Additionally, the rubber's durability rating of 7.6 indicates that it may require more frequent replacements compared to some other high-end rubbers.

Overall, Yasaka Xtend SD is a premium table tennis rubber that caters to players seeking an ideal balance between speed, spin, and control. Its tacky surface and medium-hard sponge provide excellent grip and feel, allowing for precise shot-making and devastating spin. While it may not have the catapult effect of tensor rubbers, its mechanical grip and consistent performance make it a solid choice for players aiming to elevate their game to the next level.

I have used this rubber on several blades: Photino, Clipper WRB CR, and Yasaka Allround Plus. They all reacted similarly, with slight differences. Photino excels in spin, while Clipper provides speed. Yasaka Allround offers excellent control with this rubber.

It works well for both forehand and backhand, but I prefer to use Coppa X2 on the reverse side, as I encounter various players. Overall, this rubber is comparable to Coppa X2 and Andro Hexer Duro. I appreciate its grip, as I can feel the ball upon impact.

However, one drawback is its limited availability. In major tournaments, I use Photino with Coppa X2 on one side and Yasaka Extend SD on the other side, both in maximum thickness. Extend SD has yet to disappoint me with my strong backhand.
