Butterfly Kreanga Powerspin
Blade description:
This blade is designed primarily for aggressive topspin-oriented play, functioning as an effective platform for continuous looping. It features a noticeable catapult effect, which assists in generating pace during offensive rallies, and possesses a high throw angle that facilitates consistent loop production and the use of short pips. While categorized as a versatile “all-around” offensive blade, it is generally slower than high-end carbon composite blades like the Timo Boll Spirit.
Playing Characteristics
- Feel and Stiffness: The blade offers a harder overall feel, providing direct feedback on contact. It features a degree of flex that benefits looping mechanics, though the combination of the catapult effect and a harder feel may result in unpredictable ball trajectories during passive play.
- Speed and Versatility: It provides a balanced speed level suitable for both near-table attacks and mid-distance play. It performs well with a variety of rubber types, including tensor-style rubbers with medium-to-hard sponges and traditional tacky rubbers, with which it maintains strong power output.
- Weight Distribution: The blade is noted for having significant mass, which may impact maneuverability for some users.
Construction and Quality
- Composition: This is an all-wood blade.
- Build Considerations: Reported manufacturing consistency is poor. Users have observed issues with top-ply durability, including premature wear and delamination between the top and inner plies, suggesting potential variance in quality control between different manufacturing batches.

The issue with this blade is that it’s too heavy.

The blade has a very high throw angle, which makes it suitable for short pips (e.g., CH-ATC). I have no issues attacking with short pips from mid-distance, although it does require a stronger strike. The blade can also be used for long-distance play, making it a versatile option. It is slower than TBS.

Excellent blade, nice with tensor rubbers. However, when I use Hurricane 3 Commercial and Kreanga, it gives a strong catapult. So when I play forehand with Hurricane 3, the speed is almost the same when I use Tenergy 05. Blade for everything.
