Blade description:

The Butterfly Maze T-Tec OFF blade is a specialized table tennis blade designed for aggressive play while offering exceptional control and spin. This blade boasts a 5-ply construction made predominantly of hinoki wood, known for its lightweight yet robust characteristics. Weighing in at approximately 80 grams, it perfectly balances speed and maneuverability, making it an ideal choice for players who thrive on quick exchanges and precise shots.

With a speed rating of 8.3 and an impressive control rating of 9.2, the Maze T-Tec OFF excels in providing a stable and reliable platform for various playing styles. Its stiffness rating of 1.2 and hardness of 1.4 indicate that while the blade offers some flex, it allows for sufficient feedback when attacking, helping players develop their touch and timing. This combination results in a blade that can generate heavy spin while maintaining a consistent feel during play, which is often highlighted in user reviews.

For those considering alternatives, the Butterfly Maze T-Tec OFF is frequently compared to other high-performance blades like the Jonyer and the Tenergy series. Many players appreciate its unique feel, especially for loopers who need the right balance of speed and spin. However, some users note a slight inconsistency in lobbing due to the blade’s flex—which may require some adjustment for those who play away from the table. Overall, the Butterfly Maze T-Tec OFF stands out as a well-rounded blade that caters to players seeking both control and offensive capability.

I played this blade with Tenergy 64 2.1/1.9 forehand/backhand. I noticed very good control and decent speed. The hinoki gives the feeling of the ball. Controlling is not difficult, even for beginner players. However, the beginning of the attack at the table is too high with strong spin.

An amazing blade with a lot of control.

Slightly slower compared to the Jonyer, but faster with block and counterplay, still providing enough spin and speed, even from further away. It has an absolutely brilliant feel, like no other blade I’ve played with (and I’ve tried at least 30).
