I can only give positive ratings. After four training sessions, I immediately found myself at ease with this blade. I highly recommend it with hard rubbers.

The ply is good to play with. The FL grip is slightly larger than the average. It offers good speed and control. However, it has a unique construction with flat wooden pieces in between plies, which is something I have never encountered before in the blades I have used.

In my experience, the blade (with a big handle) is too heavy at 100 grams. Some people on Google have reported weights of 97 grams and 99 grams. If you put modern rubbers on it for the plastic ball, you will get a total weight of 200 grams or more. To avoid injuries or pain in your arm, I would not recommend using a setup that weighs more than 185 grams (I prefer 180-182 grams in total). A lighter setup is quicker close to the table and easier to swing, which makes it easier to change wrist movements and avoid mistakes. It simply feels better to use. A blade that is too heavy is simply ridiculous to play with, unless you are a professional or play far from the table. Another thing to note is that the Butterfly blades made in Japan feel much better in terms of quality and balance, while this particular blade is not made in Japan. One of the comments even suggested that it is the same blade as one of the Andro ones (Trebier CI).

Plays similar to an inner force type blade. Therefore, it has more feeling. I love playing with it. It has a similar feel to a Harimoto blade but faster, and with more woody feel to it because of the type of carbon it used.

The only butterfly paddle that uses Kevlar Carbon, giving you precise and accurate shots, is perfect for offensive players.

Unusually good blade! With hard rubbers, you will mostly enjoy the mid-distance play, all this while creating points with nice control. Worth trying, it ultimately depends on playing style. Andro Rasanter R53 Ultramax (both sides) is an excellent choice.

Awesome blade. People who rate it slow compared to an Andro Treiber CI OFF, which has the exact same construction and is less fast, likely haven’t played the Andro enough. The blade can indeed be fast, but it also offers plenty of flex and control due to the limba top ply. The amount of dwell time is incredible. Paired with a Victas Triple Double Extra on the forehand, it generates fast and lethal third-ball kills, even when looping heavily backspun balls. Blocking is effortless, and the service/receive game is a delight, especially with hard, tacky rubbers like an H3N 37° on the backhand. It strikes the perfect balance between the new Viscaria, which some may find too fast, and the Innerforce ALC, which some may find too slow. It falls just a tad below the Apolonia and Innerforce ZLC, while still providing ample control. As Butterfly claims, it’s punchy at mid-distance, offering enough power for effective counterattacks. Aramid Carbon/Kevlar Carbon (Kevlar is simply the commercial name for “polyaramid”) blades are renowned for many reasons, and this one has made me forget about the Inner ALC and ZLC blades.

First of all, it is a very high-quality blade with a smooth and beautiful-feeling surface. It has a comfortable handle, is lightweight, and offers high control and a pleasant feel. It also has no vibration. Use it with hard rubbers. T05 or MX-P would be great choices.

Is that blade discontinued in 2024? I can no longer find it on the Butterfly website…
