Composite/carbon
This is a lightweight, fiber-reinforced blade constructed with 3+2 plies (3 wood, 2 TAMCA 5000 carbon). I would classify it as an Offensive(-) or Allround(+) blade.
It offers good control, especially close to the table. However, it might lack power from a distance.
The straight handle is quite small and thin, making it suitable for players with small hands. It also provides very good handling and twiddling.
I believe this is an excellent blade for players using anti-spin rubber or long pips close to the table. It works well with the OX version of pips.
Great blade! With hard rubbers, the MXP is flashing.
First, the blade is very thin, which can feel unusual to some.
Second, the straight handle is exceptionally short and thin.
Third, the blade lacks control, resulting in slow and inconsistent play.
Despite Butterfly’s reputation for producing high-quality blades, this particular model proved to be a source of frustration.
Very average blade from Butterfly. Nothing special!
