Donic Original Senso Carbon

Blade description:

This composite blade features a 5+2 construction, designed primarily for offensive play with a focus on spin-oriented strategies. It offers a large sweet spot and significant stability, providing a balance between speed and control that favors consistent looping and reliable blocking. While it is stiff and capable of producing high-velocity shots, it retains a softer feel than many traditional carbon blades, allowing for increased dwell time and improved spin generation.

Performance and Handling

  • Tactile Feedback: The blade incorporates a hollow handle design, which shifts the weight distribution toward the head. While this enhances stability during active play, users may find the feedback during delicate short-game touch shots and service returns to be less precise or clear.
  • Spin and Speed: The blade excels in creating heavy spin, particularly on the backhand wing. Its speed potential is versatile, ranging from moderate offensive levels to high speeds depending on the hardness of the rubber pairings; medium-density rubbers generally provide the most controllable experience, while hard rubbers require advanced technique to manage effectively.
  • Physical Characteristics: The construction provides a reliable and consistent platform for both attacking and defensive transitions. The handle geometry, particularly in the straight version, is noted for being relatively thick, which may influence grip comfort depending on player preference.

It offers great control, allowing precise placement of shots. However, it can also unleash powerful strikes when needed.

Balances speed and control. It has a large sweet spot.

Quite a fast and stiff blade, even compared to a normal carbon blade. Yet, the feeling is not so hard, and it’s still easy to generate spin as long as paired with a medium rubber.

Using it with hard rubbers requires a very high level of technique.
