Donic Ovtcharov Original Senso Carbon
Blade description:
This composite blade features a 5+2 construction, integrating thin carbon layers to enhance the sweet spot while maintaining a high level of flex and feel typically associated with all-wood blades. It is classified as an offensive blade that balances power with high dwell time, providing a high throw angle that offers additional safety during aggressive play. Users report minimal vibration and a stiff feel, while the softer outer plies contribute to its notable control capabilities.
Characteristics and Handling
- Performance: The blade provides enough speed to accommodate powerful loops and aggressive shots, yet remains composed in the short game, serving, and receiving. It is characterized as having a medium-to-high speed profile that functions well for both offensive and all-round offensive styles.
- Weight and Balance: The blade typically weighs between 89g and 93g. Although it tends toward a heavier construction, the slightly smaller head size helps compensate for the total racket weight when rubbers are applied. It is generally described as well-balanced, occasionally feeling slightly head-heavy depending on the rubbers used.
- Physical Features: It features a blade thickness of approximately 6.1mm. The flared handle is reported to be thicker than traditional Stiga handles, and the handle design may include a hollow cavity to influence weight distribution.
- Feel: Despite the inclusion of carbon, it does not exhibit the extreme, hollow speed often found in pure carbon blades. Instead, it offers a responsive, wooden-like feedback that favors spin-oriented play and stable blocking.

Hi all… This is my first blade, which I got 5 years ago as a beginner. I use it with Donic Bluefire M1 Turbo on the backhand and Donic Bluefire M3 on the forehand. The time I am using it is so fantastic; the weight together with the rubber still feels light. This made me win 2x in different tournaments. Absolutely a gorgeous blade.

This unique carbon blade combines the advantages of both carbon and wood blades. The thin carbon layer preserves the blade’s flexibility and feel, making it resemble a premium wood blade with an extensive sweet spot and exceptional blocking capabilities. Despite featuring carbon, the blade doesn’t exhibit extreme speed, resulting in an “Off” categorization.
While the blade tends to be weighty, its slightly smaller head size compensates for this by allowing for a few grams of rubber to be cut off. Consequently, the blade’s overall weight is partially offset.
The blade’s construction exudes high quality, surpassing even some high-end Butterfly blades at a significantly lower cost.

Blade Review
Cons: — Low speed — No control — Feels like a piece of plywood
Pros: — Good for beginners looking for a cheap option
Overall: The blade is not recommended for experienced players due to its lack of speed and control. However, it can be a good option for beginners who are just starting out and looking for a budget-friendly blade.
