Donic Persson Power Allround
Blade description:
The Donic Persson Power Allround is an all-wood blade designed to offer a balance between controlled defensive play and offensive versatility. It is noted for its lightweight build and effective balance, which prevents the blade from becoming head-heavy, facilitating rapid transitions between backhand and forehand strokes. The handle is frequently cited for its comfort, contributing to the overall maneuverability of the setup.
Playing Characteristics
- Feel and Feedback: The blade provides a reassuring, tactile feel that is highly regarded by beginners and intermediate players. Its inherent flexibility supports topspin-oriented play, while the structure remains rigid enough to provide stability during blocking.
- Speed and Power: While categorized as a slower, high-control blade, it possesses sufficient power for attacks when paired with appropriate rubbers. It is particularly responsive to the choice of rubber, allowing players to scale speed and spin to match their technical level.
- Composition and Maintenance: As an all-wood construction, it is sensitive to surface wear; users report that applying a thin layer of lacquer to the outer veneers is recommended to prevent splintering. Due to its forgiving nature, it performs well with both softer, spin-oriented rubbers and harder ESN-style rubbers for players seeking a combination of touch and power.

The most control-oriented blade I have ever played. Its lower speed is compensated by its high precision. For a recreational player like myself, it is an excellent choice. Additionally, it is very affordable, costing me only 30 euros.

This lightweight blade makes transitioning between forehand (FH) and backhand (BH) shots effortless due to the easy switch between grips. The comfortable handle and measured feel of the blade create a reassuring playing experience. Ideal for pairing with a firm, elastic rubber on the backhand, such as the Rasenter R48 or R50, and an amplified Hurricane 2 or 3 on forehand. This setup ensures a balanced combination of control and power for players with solid technique.

I’ll start by saying that I am an all-round player and I’m still learning! My stronger side is BH but I also play topspin FH. The blade is light, has a small head, and a very comfortable FL handle! I recommend that everyone varnish it, it’s necessary! I didn’t varnish mine, and unfortunately, the veneer peeled off and you could see the red layer on the deck on both sides. First, I used Butterfly Flextra rubbers on it. The control was super and the speed was low. This was due to the rubbers, however, the rotation was high even though the rubbers were typically slow. Later, I glued Aurus Sound 1.9 onto the BH and Yasaka 7 Soft 1.8 onto the FH. I’ll say that the rotation was enormous on both sides, super control, every ball was on the table, and the block was very good and pleasant!
