Donic Persson Seven

Blade description:

The Donic Persson 7 is an all-wood, 7-ply offensive blade designed for players who prioritize spin-oriented play over flat hitting. Its construction provides a balance of speed and control, making it a suitable choice for those looking to upgrade from more defensive-oriented blades without sacrificing touch and feel.

Playing Characteristics

  • Performance: The blade offers sufficient speed for offensive maneuvers and acceleration while maintaining enough control for a versatile game. Users typically classify its speed as falling between the OFF and OFF- range, making it highly effective for playing close to the table.
  • Feel and Feedback: It is characterized by its high-quality feedback and touch, providing a consistent feel that pairs well with a variety of modern tensioned rubbers.
  • Construction: As a 7-ply all-wood blade, it is frequently compared to classic 7-ply designs like the Stiga Clipper, offering a solid, stable structure.
  • Physical Properties: The blade is noted for being on the heavier side, with some individual units reaching weights around 102g. It features a flared handle design that is widely regarded for its comfortable, ergonomic grip.

Better than most overpriced 7-ply blades on the market.

It is good for players who spin, not hit, the ball.

I was using the Donic Appelgren Allplay blade and wanted to upgrade to something a little faster without sacrificing control and spin. I chose the Donic Persson Seven blade for this purpose.

On my forehand, I am using the Nittaku Fastarc G-1 rubber, and on my backhand, I am using the Yasaka Rakza 7 rubber. I am very happy with this current setup and loving it!

This is the second Donic Persson 7 wood I’ve purchased.

The combination with Mantra XH rubber and Donic Z1 was a perfect match and significantly improved my game.
