Hard to explain why I like this blade so much, but I can see why Waldner made playing look so effortless!
The blade is not overly fast and was designed for the old 38mm ball. It is reported to be the blade that Waldner used when he won the Olympics. Despite its lack of speed, it offers good control and flex. Finding this blade is nearly impossible these days, and I have only seen two other individuals who possess it. One of those individuals, the top player from Louisiana, achieved a 2350 rating using this blade in his youth. He described it as “not too fast, not too slow, with just enough flex and control.”
The blade is relatively thin and not overly springy. While it may be too slow for a true offensive game, it performs well for an All+ style, like mine.
