The Nittaku Acoustic Large Handle is a beautifully crafted table tennis blade that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern performance needs. This all-wood blade features a 5-ply construction, enhancing its ability to generate impressive spin and control, making it ideal for players who prioritize finesse over raw power. Crafted predominantly for looping styles, the Acoustic boasts exceptional dwell time, allowing for intricate control during play. The blade exudes a warm feel upon contact with the ball, reinforcing its reputation as a top-tier choice for passionate table tennis players.
Weighing in at approximately 85 grams, the Acoustic falls into the medium weight category, which provides a balanced feel without being cumbersome. The thickness of 5.7mm contributes to its forgiving nature, offering players a blend of speed and smooth handling that accommodates various playing styles. The large handle design caters to players who prefer added grip, thus enhancing their comfort during prolonged matches. This thoughtful design upgrade has been well-received, particularly in terms of weight distribution and balance, allowing for the application of heavier rubbers without compromising the blade’s overall weight feel.
In terms of flexibility, the Acoustic showcases a stiffness rating of 5.1, creating a slight bend that delivers impressive feedback and touch, making it easier for players to execute delicate shots and powerful loops alike. In terms of alternatives, players may wish to explore options like the Tibhar Force Pro or even some carbon blades for a stiffer feel; however, many reviews suggest that the Nittaku Acoustic provides a rare combination of control and flexibility, often preferred by players seeking a more wooden feel with the finesse needed in higher-level play. Overall, the Nittaku Acoustic Large Handle proves to be an exceptional choice for players who appreciate the art of table tennis.
If you’re looking for spin, this is the ultimate blade. As an intermediate player who prefers forehand loops, this blade provides a lot of spin and control.
The blade is also very precise. I can aim for a spot and consistently place the ball there. It’s the best and most versatile blade I’ve tried, with a medium-high throw angle and a great sweet spot. This LG version is better balanced than the original.
Compared to other blades:
Tolles Vollholz - absolut empfehlenswert!
Tolle Kontrolle und Rückmeldung.
Really happy with this blade. It took me quite some time to decide on a new blade that fits my playing style and rubber set up. Mine weighs 84 g. Large handle is still a bit on the small side for me (1.93m is my height) but griptape is easily applied. I play short pips FH (horizontal) for a few decades and hard China rubber on BH. I come from a lightweight balsa blade, quite fast, very spinny, easy to maneuver and handle. The first new set up I tried with this acoustic blade was short pip Morristo and Battle 2 Friendship prov gold (2.15mm) unboosted. The first hours playing felt okay but it was not yet what I expected. However, I knew the potential of the blade was there. I boosted the Battle 2 and immediately felt very close to my balsa blade but with even better feedback through the blade to my hand. You hear and feel exactly when you hit it correctly. Really good control with blocks. Fast topspins from BH possible and heavy spin in the serves. My FH was a different story. The combination with the Moristo SP (Max) was too soft for my liking. I changed to short pips Friendship 802-40 Mystery III (2.2mm), which was fitting more to my hitting style on the FH. But the feeling I prefer is a little more direct/hard. The Friendship 802-1 (2.0mm) is giving me that. Spinny serves with FH are also possible to some extent. Chopping defense style far from the table can be performed too. All in all, very satisfied with my choice for the Acoustic from Nittaku.
