Nittaku Septear Lead
Blade description:
This blade is an all-wood offensive model featuring a Hinoki outer ply. It is characterized by a “live” feel that provides significant vibrational feedback, allowing for high levels of touch and ball placement. While generally considered an offensive-oriented blade, it offers a distinct gear range, remaining manageable during slow play while providing considerable power when executing aggressive shots.
Performance Characteristics
- Feel and Dwell Time: The blade is noted for its flexibility and extended dwell time, which facilitates high spin potential. This makes it particularly effective for looping and lobbing.
- Speed and Control: It is described as having a balance of speed and control that is highly versatile. It performs well across a broad spectrum of rubber types, including tensors, tacky rubbers, and harder Chinese sponges.
- Weight: It is a lightweight blade, typically weighing in the range of 76–77 grams.
- Feedback: The blade provides clear, tactile feedback, which users describe as helpful for developing proper technique and spin sensitivity.
Build Quality and Construction
- Design: The blade features a high-quality aesthetic, often highlighted by its Hinoki surface. It is frequently praised for its craftsmanship, with some versions arriving pre-sanded.
- Durability and Maintenance: While most users report excellent build quality and finish, there are varying accounts regarding the durability of the outer wood layers when removing or replacing rubbers. Players opting for harder, more aggressive rubber setups tend to favor this blade to compensate for its inherent flexibility.

A cheap blade with the “new cheap tag” with cheap hinoki. After only one month when I replaced rubber, the blade surface splintered. It’s very light for an offensive blade at 77g. The dwell time is big (too big) and unpleasant (use rubber hard). It has a big vibration (unpleasant too). The control is very good, and the throw angle is medium-high. I can’t put the pictures with damage… try Xiom Offensive S or Donic WSC… for beginners, very good… I’m the last because I have a negative review… good for you… Update 28-05-2023: Yes, this junk blade is out of production. What???
