Nittaku S-Series S-7

Blade description:

This blade is a high-quality, 7-ply all-wood construction designed for technical attackers who prioritize spin generation and touch. It offers a softer feel and greater flex compared to traditional, stiffer 7-ply blades like the Stiga Clipper, resulting in a more pronounced “kick” when contacting the ball.

Playing Characteristics

  • Feel and Flex: The blade is characterized by a high degree of flex, which enhances dwell time and spin production. The feedback is soft, providing significant sensitivity during delicate play.
  • Performance: While it provides sufficient power for attacking, it is not categorized as an ultra-fast offensive blade. It excels in controlled, spin-oriented offensive play and remains versatile enough to be paired with short pips.
  • Physical Build: The construction features excellent finishing, including well-rounded edges. The handle design is noted for its comfort and ergonomics, and the overall head size is slightly smaller than some standard counterparts, contributing to a maneuverable and balanced feel.

This is a very high-quality 7-ply wood blade with some flex to it to give the ball some kick. It has many similar features to Pimple park’s Sica, but is a little smaller head size. The finish and details are absolutely awesome. It is not the fastest 7-ply wood blade I own, but is a work of art. If you can find one on sale, then you are double happy…

Stunning-looking blade, one of if not the most beautiful blade (out of 20) I own. Beautiful rounded edges, very nice straight handle, decent size, not too small. Compared to a Stiga Clipper it is softer, definitely also a bit slower, but has a wonderful feel. Great spin potential. Nittaku Factive on BH which I find slightly too slow for topspin (compared to what I usually play, Stiga Genesis M). Works well with short pips as well. (Right now Degu 2 on it, which are not my favourite pips). Great service from tabletennis11.com.
