Stiga HyperTech CR 35/45
Blade description:
This all-wood blade is designed as an all-round offensive tool that excels in close-to-the-table play. It is characterized by a notably lightweight build, which remains well-balanced even when paired with rubbers of maximum thickness. Players will find a distinct difference in behavior between the two sides, with the backhand side offering a more dampened, control-oriented response compared to the more responsive and precise forehand.
Playing Characteristics
- Tactile Feedback: The blade provides a comfortable feel in the hand, particularly when utilizing the Legend flared handle, though users may find that the handle requires light sanding for optimal comfort.
- Offensive and Defensive Utility: It performs effectively for blocking, controlled short-game play, and counter-hitting. The blade facilitates sharp, precise attacks and loops, though it performs best when paired with rubbers that have sufficient speed to compensate for its inherent control-focused nature.
- Versatility: While suitable for beginners due to its high level of control, its performance ceiling is high enough for intermediate play. It handles both tacky and non-tacky rubbers well, offering high spin potential on loops when paired with appropriate surfaces.
Construction
- Material: All-wood composition.
- Classification: Classified within the ALL+ category, prioritizing a balance between a controlled short game and the ability to execute fast loops or smashes from close to mid-distance.

Changed to this blade 2 years ago, and I’ve never been happier with a blade. It provides good defense on backhand and good offense with your forehand. At the start, I was using Stiga Boost TS on both sides but recently changed to KTX Extra Tacky. It’s very hard to open with backhand since the blade is already slower on the backhand side. So, a tip is to not use a rubber that’s too slow. It’s very good for blocking and controlling play! But playing offensively is very hard if you don’t use a rubber with a bit more speed.

Best blade for beginners and all-around type players. Good quality.

One of the top blades in its class. Very light weight with max thickness rubbers. Nice transition from a controlled short game to fast loops/hits/counter close/mid distance from the table. The Legend FL handle needs some very light sanding but feels very comfortable. Outstanding with Stiga Boost or Calibra rubbers. A winner from Stiga. The Legend grip feels superb. Recently tried with Hurricane III 3-50 and it produced incredible spin on loops. Of the army of blades I have tested, this one shines as the very best in the ALL+ class.
Update: If you are an intermediate player, pair this blade with Nittaku Renanos Hold for incredible spin. To slow? This combo has the same top end speed of my BTY TBS/Tenergy setup. Great, great feeling Legend FL grip.
