Blade description:

This blade is an all-wood, 7-ply offensive-minus blade characterized by a soft, controlled feel and significant dwell time. It is designed for players who prioritize accuracy, tactical ball placement, and stability over raw, high-speed power. Because of its steady nature and lack of excessive vibration, it is well-suited for a variety of playing styles, including close-to-the-table blocking, controlled looping, and effective use of short or long pips on the backhand.

Playing Characteristics

  • Feel and Dwell: The construction provides a soft, tactile response that allows for excellent ball feedback. The increased dwell time makes it easy to generate spin on forehand topspins and keep the ball low during the short game.
  • Speed and Power: While categorized as an offensive blade, its speed is measured and controlled. It is notably slower and less stiff than typical high-speed 7-ply power blades, making it a reliable choice for players transitioning from faster composite blades or those who prefer a more forgiving offensive experience.
  • Throw Angle: The blade features a low throw angle, which aids in precise placement and flat hitting. Players using low-throw backhand rubbers should be aware of this, as it may influence the arc of their shots.
  • Balance and Handling: A defining feature of this blade is its handle design—frequently compared to the “Viscaria” style—which is noted for its exceptional comfort and ergonomic shape. The weight distribution, often shifted closer to the head, provides a steady, balanced feel during both offensive strokes and defensive maneuvers.

Paired it with Glayzer 09C and I clicked immediately with the blade. It offers very good control and confidence to swing. I was playing with Timo Boll ALC and it was kind of fast for me.

My main blade for the moment and plan to stick with it.

Thanks.

The handle is small and nice to hold. However, the blade lacks power compared to the normal edition. I’m not sure if it has to do with the shift in the center of gravity.

This has become my go-to blade as a long pips (LP) player who wants to use my forehand (FH). It gives the best combination of control with my LP without a sponge or with 0.5 mm sponge combined with good attacking inverted properties. It is a little more controlled than my prior favorite 7-ply wood, Yasaka’s Falck W7. The straight handle is good for me. Balls that go long off my LP blocks with the Falck W7 are now on the table. My FH blocks off my opponent’s loops stay on the table, yet my attack shots seem to have similar effectiveness. I’m super pumped about this blade.
