Tibhar Nimbus All
Blade description:
The Tibhar Nimbus Allround is an all-wood blade designed primarily for developing players and those focusing on technique refinement. It is characterized by a neutral touch and vivid feedback, making it a reliable tool for learning foundational strokes, including topspin and blocking. The blade offers a mid-fast speed, positioning it as a versatile option that bridges the gap between purely defensive play and aggressive attacking.
Performance and Feel
- Tactile Feedback: Users report a direct, positive feel that allows for excellent ball placement, contributing to a high level of consistency and control.
- Power Dynamics: While sufficient for controlled offensive shots, the blade lacks the top-end power required for high-speed smashing and aggressive looping, often leading advanced players to seek faster alternatives.
- Weight: It is generally a lightweight blade, typically falling in the 74g to 84g range, which enhances maneuverability but may feel too light for players seeking a heavier, more stable setup.
Construction and Suitability
- Composition: This is an all-wood construction, providing a classic wood feel compared to composite or carbon alternatives.
- Versatility: It is highly regarded as a training blade suitable for beginners to intermediate-level players. Its predictable nature makes it a popular choice for testing various rubber combinations.
- Ergonomics: Handle dimensions vary, with some users finding the anatomic (AN) handle particularly comfortable for larger hands, while others note the handle may feel thin depending on personal preference.

Very good blade for beginners, highly recommended for training. It provides a good feeling and is versatile, allowing players to learn every technique. I use the AN handle, which is quite wide (oval) on this blade and incredibly pleasant for large hands like mine.
The blade is lightweight (mine is 81g) and easy to pair with rubbers. I use it to test rubbers because of the vivid feedback and neutral touch it provides. Tibhar recommends pairing it with Nimbus rubbers, but I don’t. Nimbus rubbers have a rather old design and aren’t efficient enough with plastic balls. Based on my findings, it pairs well with Xiom Vega (Intro, Euro) rubbers and Tibhar Evolution (FX, EL) and Quantum X series. I haven’t tried harder rubbers yet but will on occasion.
The build quality is decent, as expected in that price range. You get what you pay for. However, it’s not typical of Tibhar quality. I own 4 other Tibhar blades, and all have a better finish.
Despite its slightly lower build quality, the fact that this blade has been sold for over 15 years after its release speaks volumes about its popularity and effectiveness.

Muy buena madera para jugadores all around.

Very good for learning table tennis. However, it becomes too slow for advanced players. The handle is too thin for my preference. Overall, a very good blade with good ball control.
