Blade description:

The Yasaka Falck Carbon is a 5+2 construction composite blade designed for attacking players who prioritize a balance between offensive power and tactile feedback. By placing the Japanese Premium Carbon (JPC) layers closer to the wooden core, the blade achieves a solid, stiff feel with minimal vibration, while maintaining the nuanced touch often associated with all-wood rackets.

Performance Characteristics

  • Speed and Power: The carbon integration provides a significant boost in speed, allowing for aggressive play and powerful finishing shots. It is frequently compared to high-end inner-carbon blades, offering performance characteristics similar to established professional-grade equipment.
  • Feel and Control: Despite the inclusion of carbon, the blade is noted for its high level of ball feedback. Users often report a smoother transition for those moving away from traditional all-wood blades, as it retains a delicate touch for finesse shots and controlled placement.
  • Build and Weight: The blade typically weighs between 82 and 83 grams, making it a relatively lightweight option. The construction is highly durable, with the internal positioning of the carbon layers providing better protection against accidental impacts with the table edge.

Usage Recommendations

This blade is well-suited for aggressive attackers who rely on precision and need extra power without sacrificing the ability to feel the ball during delicate exchanges. Its performance profile makes it particularly effective for players using short pips on the forehand or those seeking a stable, high-performance alternative to more expensive market equivalents. Note that while the build quality is high, some users may find the finish around the handle area requires minor sanding for optimal comfort.

I tried this blade and definitely preferred it to the Butterfly inner carbon blades. It offers more feel and control. However, I’ve decided to go back to an all-wood blade.

This is a good blade. I agree with others that the finish is a bit rough around the handle, but nothing a little sandpaper can’t fix.

Perfect for a male player using short pips on their forehand.

I am using this blade with Xiom Jekyll and Hyde X50, having previously used a Butterfly Timo Boll ALC (TB ALC). It’s slightly slower than the TB ALC and closer in speed to a Viscaria, but the control is significantly better.

I was looking for a light blade (around 82 grams) with a straight handle and a balance of excellent speed and control. The Yasaka Falck Carbon possesses all these qualities. The handle is very comfortable, and the carbon layer is positioned closer to the core, which likely reduces the chance of damage when accidentally hitting the table. The fact that it’s more affordable than other top-brand blades is an added bonus.

I highly recommend it. The delivery from tabletennis11 was also outstanding; very fast, despite being on the other side of the planet.
