Yasaka Ma Lin Max Carbon
Blade description:
The Yasaka Ma Lin Max Carbon is a composite blade featuring a 3+2 construction. It utilizes an “inner carbon” design, where the carbon layers are positioned deep within the wood plies rather than directly beneath the top veneer. This configuration significantly influences the blade’s performance, resulting in a progressive gear range that behaves differently depending on the force applied to the ball.
Performance Characteristics
- Feel and Dwell: On lighter strokes, the blade retains a predominantly woody, medium-soft feel with excellent ball dwell time, facilitating precise touch shots and consistent short-game control. As the player increases impact force, the carbon layers engage, transitioning the feel to a harder, more energetic response.
- Speed and Power: While not inherently bouncy, the blade offers a substantial power reserve for aggressive play. It is linear and accurate, providing stability for blocking, counter-hitting, and looping. Because the carbon is buried deeper in the construction, users often find that it requires more technical effort to activate the maximum speed potential compared to outer-carbon blades.
- Physicality and Construction: The blade is known for a large sweet spot, which contributes to its high level of accuracy and forgiveness. Users typically describe the balance as good, and it is available in lightweight configurations. Players should note that the handle branding may vary by shape, as standard handle labeling can be obscured during professional rubber assembly.
This blade is well-suited for offensive players who prefer a blend of soft-touch control in the short game and explosive power during high-intensity topspin rallies or smashes. Given its progressive nature, it rewards players with solid technique who can reliably trigger the carbon core.

I am a sort of beginner+ player, playing TT with friends for a couple of years.
This is my first professional blade which I chose after a lot of research.
I wanted to have the feeling of a professional racket and I didn’t want to put too much money and also have control in my shots.
So, I went with this blade. My decision was okay but not that great.
If you have played TT for 2-3 years with some good players and you are an offensive player who loves topspin, then I don’t recommend this blade as it is slow and the inner carbon layer comes into effect after you put a lot of power in your shots.
If you are a fresher then this is the blade for you to start your journey as it will give you good control and speed.
Though, I suggest choosing fast rubbers with this blade to overcome the slowness of the blade.
Go for Tibhar MX-P with this blade on both sides and it will give you a good level of confidence.
I placed Tibhar EL-S and Rakza Z rubbers. (I don’t recommend Rakza Z as it is very slow).

Thank you Tabletennis 11 for the excellent service.

Good quality blade, without manufacturing issues except label at bottom of handle peeled off on the second training session, but it is minor.
Expected more speed, but due to carbon layers being deep in plywood layers they work only after putting great effort from my side. So found out that need to work more than with my previous blade where carbon layers were closer to the surface. In general trying to get used to this new blade. My level is “amateur”.
