The Yinhe J-1 is a distinctive single-ply table tennis blade crafted from Ayous wood, known for its unique blend of speed and control. Designed primarily for penhold-style players, this blade offers a great balance of power and finesse, making it suitable for various playing styles. Its construction emphasizes a soft touch and excellent dwell time, providing players with an opportunity to execute precise strokes and loops with enhanced spin. At just 10mm thick and weighing approximately 95 grams, the J-1 falls into the medium-heavy category, allowing for a solid feel without sacrificing maneuverability.
In terms of flexibility, the J-1 showcases a moderate stiffness level of 5.4, which contributes to its variable playing characteristics. Players can experience substantial control during slower rallies while being able to unleash impressive speed during more aggressive plays. The blade’s response can change depending on the chosen rubber, making it adaptable to different playing styles and preferences. Some users have reported that when paired with hard, tacky rubbers, the J-1 excels in generating spin and punch, solidifying its reputation as a versatile option for offensive players.
For those seeking alternatives, it’s important to consider that the J-1 has received mixed reviews. While many players appreciate its unique touch and feedback, others have found it bulkier and less responsive compared to thinner hinoki blades, recommending those options for a more traditional feel. Despite this, the Yinhe J-1 remains an appealing choice, especially for penhold enthusiasts looking for quality performance at an approachable price.
The blade is bulky and not as good as it could be for the price. If possible, save up some more money and get a hinoki blade instead. This blade is not worth the money and is made of low-quality materials.
Hello, since there are so many bad reviews of this blade, I want to share my take on it. One reason for this big difference between all reviews could be that there are different versions of this blade. I am referring to the CS short handle penhold version. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32969977592.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.3c894c4dbDIVPH This blade, if you pair it with the right rubbers, is amazing in many aspects. I have tested it with very hard Chinese style rubbers like for FH: Nittaku Hurricane Pro III Turbo Blue, H3 Nat Blue sponge, and Donic BlueGrip C1. The result is quite amazing, and if I have to choose between these 3 FH rubbers, No.1 would be Donic, No.2 Nittaku Hurricane, and No.3 would be H3 Blue Sponge Nat. When playing with these rubbers on FH, speed is very slow when you are playing soft and when using more power, the speed is comparable with my fastest carbon super Zlc Butterfly blade Jun Mizutani. The difference is that with that expensive Butterfly blade, I don’t have the same feeling and control in the soft touch play. So this Galaxy J-1 blade has so many gears and a feeling/control that only a 1 ply blade can offer - it’s very unique. Also, for the BH side, I strongly recommend hard to very hard Chinese tacky rubbers like H3 style. It is a fantastic combination with this extreme soft and flexy blade, to pair it with modern Chinese tacky hard rubbers. I have been going through 80-90 different rubbers, ESN rubbers like T05, Dignics 80 and 09C, all DHS rubbers, and many many more. I have at least been through 50 different blades from Stiga, Butterfly, and during the last year, I have been testing 1 ply blades with Hinoki, Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, and now also Ayous wood. And Ayous is the best for me, the best combination of worlds… High speed when you want it, slow soft speed when you want it, and the control/feeling is among the best I have ever experienced. And the price is right now USD 24 and I have just ordered 1 more of this masterpiece. Thank you :-) BC.
This blade is very cheap. It has a medium-low speed for Japanese Penhold style of play, and a strange and inconsistent performance. The sweet spot is very small, making it difficult to play with this blade. In general, I do not recommend it.
