Donic Acuda Blue P1

Rubber description:

This rubber is a tensor-style sheet characterized by a balanced, medium feel and a focus on spin-oriented play. It features a grippy, semi-tacky topsheet paired with a porous sponge that provides high elasticity. The rubber is designed to be highly effective for players who prefer to stay close to or at a medium distance from the table, offering a blend of speed and precision that suits both forehand and backhand applications.

Performance and Playing Characteristics

  • Spin and Control: The rubber offers high spin potential, allowing for easy looping and effective ball placement. It is noted for its ability to “grab” the ball, which makes it particularly strong during touch play and short-game scenarios. Users report a high level of control, attributed to a linear response that provides predictability during shots.
  • Speed and Trajectory: While capable of producing significant speed close to the table, the rubber requires more physical effort to generate power from long distances. The ball trajectory is generally described as a low to medium arch, offering a stable and reliable flight path.
  • Feel and Responsiveness: Despite its efficiency, the rubber avoids an overly hard sensation, maintaining a comfortable medium feel. It replaces the aggressive, erratic catapult effect found in some classic tensor rubbers with a more consistent, dense, and linear response, making it easier to handle modern poly balls.

Easy to play with

This rubber is easy to play with, especially with the current poly ball. It’s very easy to loop the 40+ ball and spin.

Consistent performance

I felt like I wouldn’t go wrong using this rubber. However, it’s hard to play in long distance.

Versatile

I’m using this rubber on both forehand and backhand.

Very good rubber for both forehand and backhand.

It has great speed and touch, giving excellent control. The speed is there, the spin is there, medium throw, but it shines in control, amazing. Kinda soft.

Cut has a weight of 45 grams after cutting. Due to its low arch, it resembles Chinese rubbers such as the Skyline Neo TG3, but with increased bounce. It provides similar spin to the TG3 but with significantly improved control due to its more linear trajectory.

I also own the Blue P1 Turbo, which is noticeably faster than the Cut.

Previously, I used the Bluefire JP 01 Turbo. It has a higher arch, which better suits my playing style. However, the Bluefire is heavier at 50 grams when cut, and weight is a crucial factor for reverse penhold backhand strokes.
