With a speed rating of 8.4, the Coppa delivers explosive acceleration, allowing for aggressive offensive play while maintaining a notable spin rating of 8.8, which enhances its ability to generate spin on serves and loops. Coupled with a control rating of 8.7, players can confidently execute complex strokes with precision and predictability.
In terms of tackiness, the Coppa is rated at 3.8, indicating a moderate level that provides a good grip on the ball without being overly sticky. This characteristic allows for effective spin generation but may be less effective for players favoring a more tacky rubber. This is a “classical” rubber, which means it is not very bouncy. It has a slight amount of tackiness.
It is a bit harder, faster, and spinnier compared to Mark V or Focus III Snipe. Weighing 43g and glued in 2.1 mm, this rubber is still going strong after 70 hours of play.
I have found that while using tensors, the classical rubbers are easier to control, both over and close to the table. This makes it very easy to keep pushes low. Blocks and counters are also performed well. However, I do find that looping is an area where I need more assistance.
Overall, this table tennis rubber performs well in all aspects. It can be fresh-glued easily and offers a variety of gears. Additionally, it provides a good amount of kick during play.
The old reliable is still excellent; it’s a tad faster and better than Mark V. I am using Donic Coppa on both my C-pen blades: Avalox BT777 and Stiga Hybrid Wood.
This rubber is a true classic from Donic and is worth the money. I definitely recommend it!
