Donic Coppa
Rubber description:
Performance Characteristics
Donic Coppa is a classic, non-tensor rubber designed for players who prioritize control and consistency over explosive, high-tension speed. It features a high-elastic, spin-oriented topsheet paired with a medium-hard, dynamic sponge that provides excellent dwell time. This combination makes it particularly well-suited for all-round and controlled offensive styles, allowing for precise placement in both the short game and tactical rallies.
Playing Style and Utility
- Spin and Control: The rubber offers reliable spin potential for loops, serves, and drives. It is highly regarded for its touch play, making it easy to keep pushes low and perform secure blocks.
- Versatility: While it functions as a standalone rubber for beginners and intermediate players, its classical construction also responds well to traditional speed glue or boosters for advanced users looking to replicate a “speed glue sensation.”
- Suitability: It excels in the hands of players who prefer a traditional, linear feel over the “bouncy” effect of modern tensor rubbers. It performs effectively on both the forehand and backhand, providing a balanced, predictable arc that rewards technical proficiency.

Rubber speed is very slow.

This is a “classical” rubber, which means it is not very bouncy. It has a slight amount of tackiness.
It is a bit harder, faster, and spinnier compared to Mark V or Focus III Snipe. Weighing 43g and glued in 2.1 mm, this rubber is still going strong after 70 hours of play.
I have found that while using tensors, the classical rubbers are easier to control, both over and close to the table. This makes it very easy to keep pushes low. Blocks and counters are also performed well. However, I do find that looping is an area where I need more assistance.

As for me, Donic Coppa can be used for intermediate players as FH and BH, as all-round and offensive rubber.
My flexy Yasaka Sweden Classic (ALL+) plays as OFF- with Donic Coppa red max and it’s only with classic topspin technique.
I see no difference in speed with my previous fiberglass setup Yinhe Mercury-13 with FH Palio AK-47 Red.
