Nittaku Fastarc G-1 Review

For forehand play, the Nittaku Fastarc G-1 rubber provides excellent control and spin. However, its low throw angle makes it less effective for looping as it produces a limited arc. This characteristic favors near-the-table play.

For classic defenders, the Fastarc G-1 may be a suitable option. However, modern defenders may prefer a faster rubber due to its slower speed. Overall, this rubber’s strengths in control and spin are balanced by its limitations in looping and speed.

Review: Yinhe Moon Slice 40 CD 1.8mm

After using the standard Slice 40, I purchased the Moon Slice 40 CD in 1.8mm sponge, hoping to find a perfect forehand rubber with a higher throw angle and speed. However, my expectations were not met.

The CD version leans towards Chinese rubbers, being less hard and less lively. Compared to the Slice 40, the CD version feels harder, tackier, and less dynamic, resulting in less arcing and spin. Even after boosting with Falco Long, it remained too slow for effective topspin.

Overall, the Yinhe Moon Slice 40 CD 1.8mm disappointed me. It lacks the desired speed and spin characteristics that are essential for a successful forehand rubber. Instead, I believe a 1.8mm sponge version of the standard Slice 40 would be a more suitable option.

Nittaku Hammond Pro H Table Tennis Rubber Review

I play this rubber on my backhand in 1.5mm thickness. Chopping with this rubber is an absolute blast. If you’re a chopper, this rubber is your new weapon! It also excels at topspins, flips, and shots.

As a rebeginner, I currently play with this rubber on a Primorac OFF blade for about four hours a week. I play at an off-level and enjoy serving with variation, including short, long, side, and under the table serves. I primarily use this rubber for chopping in defense or for fun against players using pimpled-out rubbers.

Overall, this is the perfect rubber for beginners like me. It will help you improve your chopping skills, while providing sufficient speed for topspins when used with an off-level blade.

Defenders put it on the right (with spikes on the left), control, spin, and durability are the main advantages.

It is an excellent inverted defensive rubber. I use it with 1.2 mm of sponge on my reverse. Superb control in both blocks on the table and in cuts, chop-type, from afar. Also very versatile in counterattack. The major flaw is its very limited durability: in about 50 net hours of use, it has already lost its grip, although I clean it with suitable products at the end of each game session. This is a problem: changing a rubber of $30 every two months is not cheap. For the rest, it is the best smooth defensive rubber I have ever used.

This rubber is not only for defenders. If you have an intermediate backhand, you can comfortably use this one. For instance, if you perform a BH topspin but can’t control it enough with other rubbers of the “Off” category, or your blocks fly away from the table, try this (and Tibhar Super Defence Soft).

Very slow rubber. I went from an extremely fast to an extremely slow rubber. I use this for backhand. I had to change my backhand muscle memory a bit. However, now I can flick and loop the ball more easily and return spinny backspin and sidespin serves. It is still very hard to slice, for an intermediate/advanced player like me, much harder than short or long pimples. That being said, great defensive rubber, excellent spin and control. Don’t buy if you primarily want to attack!

Got a 1.5mm red for my forehand, primarily to chop. But if you can manage to generate speed and spin, it can hit lethal forehand topspins/kills as well. Just need to get used to the spin-elastic nature of it.
Having said that, the rubber is obviously slow and not perfect for OFF players.
The tackiness wears off soon but still a spinny and durable rubber if cleaned after every session.
Considering the price, it’s a gem!
