Nittaku Hammond Power

Rubber description:

This is a tensor rubber characterized by a medium-hard sponge and a solid, consistent feel. It is designed as a versatile, all-around offensive tool that performs reliably across various facets of play, including looping, flat hitting, and touch shots. Its construction offers a distinct, crisp clicking sensation upon contact, which provides clear feedback during aggressive strokes.

Playing Characteristics

  • Spin and Sensitivity: The rubber features moderate spin generation capabilities and is notably low in spin sensitivity. This makes it particularly effective for players who prioritize accuracy and predictability over heavy rotation.
  • Control and Dwell: It offers exceptional control, especially in blocking scenarios, where its linear behavior allows for stable and repeatable returns. The dwell time is notable, providing enough time to maneuver the ball effectively during active play.
  • Suitability: Due to its linear nature and ease of use, it is widely utilized as a backhand rubber. It serves players who prefer a direct, flatter trajectory and reliable, high-percentage attacking play. Its performance is often compared to higher-priced, high-performance rubbers, offering a similar, albeit slightly softer, experience.

The blocking rubber offers exceptional control, allowing for consistent and precise blocks. Players will appreciate the nice clicking feel when executing shots. However, one notable drawback is that it can be relatively harder to generate spin compared to other rubbers that I usually use.

Overall, I believe the orientation of this rubber is somewhat close to the Tenergy 64, but at one-fourth the price. It works particularly well for backhand play.

A fantastic backhand surprise! I was given an example from TT11 to review, and it sits firmly and very well on one of my blades, the Nittaku Septear Lead, alongside my excellent Yasaka Rakza Z.

This combination is among the top three and provides pure fun to play with. It features a lethal attack thanks to the ultra-spinny, hard sidespin and topspin from Rakza Z. Additionally, from the backhand, the Hammond Power showcases all its glory.

I recommend putting it on the backhand, as I believe 95 percent of players have done.

This table tennis rubber is very good and easy to play with, especially for the backhand. Its design enhances control and maneuverability, making it an excellent choice for players looking to improve their game. Overall, I highly recommend this rubber for anyone seeking a reliable option for their backhand strokes.
