The Stiga Mantra H is a remarkable table tennis rubber tailored for intermediate to advanced players looking to enhance their offensive play. Engineered with a focus on speed and spin, it boasts an impressive speed rating of 158 and a spin rating of 132. The rubber features a moderately sticky top sheet, providing a unique blend of control and powerful loops while allowing players to generate considerable topspin.
With a weight classed as medium (5.8), the Mantra H feels substantial yet manageable, making it suitable for a variety of playstyles. The sponge hardness measures at 8.8, offering a firm response that contributes to its explosive speed and energy transfer. Players have noted the rubber’s high catapult effect, allowing for fast strokes, but some have mentioned that this can lead to decreased dwell time, which may challenge control during intricate spin plays.
Durability is another factor to consider; while many players find the rubber reliable, reviews indicate mixed experiences. On the downside, some users have reported noticeable wear and denting after only a few weeks of play, especially in demanding conditions. Yet, its overall rating stands at an impressive 9.2, affirming its popularity among players.
For those considering alternatives, the Stiga Mantra H offers a comparable performance to rubbers such as Tibhar MX-P and Donic Acuda S1 Turbo, with unique traits that set it apart. It’s an excellent choice for offensive play, especially when paired with a compatible blade that aligns with its fast and spin-heavy characteristics.
The Mantra H model is a special rubber created with Japanese technology by the Stiga brand. It can be a great choice for intermediate and advanced players.
The rubber is fast enough and slightly sticky and tenacious at a reasonable price. The topsheet is a bit harsh, and the sponge is of medium hardness. I really liked it under the forehand.
I use Stiga Mantra H 2.1mm on my forehand. My blade is Stiga Allround Classic. This setup is perfect. The spin which it generates is awesome.
However, when I use it on a faster blade (Sanwei Fextra), the dwell time was too short. It was too hard to generate spin for me. It has many gears and playing with it is really nice. The throw angle is medium low.
