Tibhar Aurus Prime
Rubber description:
This high-performance tensor rubber is characterized by its significant speed and high-throw trajectory, making it an aggressive choice for both forehand and backhand play. Designed for advanced players with established stroke mechanics, it offers a direct, powerful feel that excels in loops, drives, and smashes. While it possesses a high spin potential, it is often noted for being less sensitive to incoming spin than many traditional high-end rubbers, which facilitates more consistent service returns and stable blocking.
Key Performance Characteristics
- Speed and Dynamics: Highly fast with a pronounced catapult effect, providing excellent pace on offensive shots. The rubber remains responsive even on short-ball play, though its bounciness requires precise technique.
- Spin and Dwell: Features a grippy topsheet capable of generating high spin levels. It performs well when the ball is struck firmly, allowing for deep, aggressive penetration.
- Control and Handling: Offers surprising control for its speed category, particularly when paired with the appropriate sponge thickness or a slightly slower, controlled blade. It is highly effective for counter-topspin exchanges and flat hitting.
- Physical Properties: Lightweight in construction, making it versatile for various blade combinations. Users should note that the rubber is prone to significant shrinkage if removed and reglued, and it may require a brief adaptation period to master its high dynamics.

The fastest rubber I have ever played, which is surprisingly soft. Considering its enormous speed, it offers very good control. I have it on my backhand, 1.7 mm thick. When using blocks, you need to keep a more closed angle, but the control will still be good. The rubber is precise when serving and rotates well. It also picks up backspin serves well.

This rubber needs much more marketing efforts. It is magnificent.
I put it on XVT ZL Hinoki as a FH rubber.
Speed: When looping with a Chinese style, the combination of grip and speed makes it deadly. Using the European way is also a good choice as it is very spinny.
Control: For 1.9 thickness, the control is truly remarkable. Very easy to return any spin regarding low sensibility to spin.
Spin: The topsheet is grippy, creating spin, but the right technique is to hit the ball more directly, making much more contact with the rubber instead of brushing.
Catapult: Comfortable arc. Very easy to loop backspin. Sometimes if you compensate too much, the balls go out.
Smashing: Direct hitting is a breeze. Just close your eyes and shoot.
Summary: Very controllable, high-speed spinny rubber :)

Initially, this one seemed to be the holy grail of backhand rubbers for me. High but predictable dynamics, high throw, good feel, probably slightly faster (although with a weaker catapult effect) than MX-P while less spin-sensitive, with a grippier topsheet. However, it likes its boost even quicker than MX-P - it was just about 12-15 playing/training hours for me. After that, dynamics decrease drastically and so it’s harder to get the same spin and speed on the ball.
