Tibhar Aurus Soft is a premium table tennis rubber designed for players who prioritize spin and control, particularly from mid-distance. It excels in delivering a high degree of spin, making it an excellent choice for those who rely on exceptional serve and topspin capabilities. The rubber features a medium-soft sponge, which aids in creating a desirable dwell time that enhances ball control and precision. Players have noted its effectiveness in generating a controlled opening spinny loop, while its high throw angle allows for dynamic offensive play. With a speed rating of 104, it is fast enough for aggressive play styles, but still maintains the control needed for defensive strokes.
In terms of tackiness, Aurus Soft has a moderate rating of 2.4, providing grip while still facilitating quick and fluid strokes. Weighing in at 4.1, it is classified as a medium-weight rubber, allowing for decent speed without excessive heaviness that can hinder maneuverability. The durability factor is commendable at 7.6, ensuring that players can rely on its performance over time without frequent replacements.
For players seeking alternatives, while Aurus Soft stands out for its spin-oriented features, options like Tenergy 05 FX and the Evolution series are highlighted by some for their high-performance attributes. However, Aurus Soft presents itself as a more budget-friendly choice, making it particularly appealing for beginners and intermediate players. Its blend of spin, control, and value makes it a versatile rubber that can adapt as players develop their skills.
A lot better than Aurus Sound, with slightly more quality in shots and a bit more speed. However, the ball quality is still low and not deadly. Spin is alright, around 6/10 compared to H3N. Pairs best with carbon blades.
I have used the Auris Soft as a backhand (BH) rubber for almost two years. I play twice a week and use the Xiom Vega Pro as my blade and forehand (FH) rubber.
The Auris Soft rubber is very consistent and can open up backspin balls easily. You can also do easy blocks and control the ball well. The speed is fast once you hit the blade through the rubber, but if you rely on the rubber itself, the speed is slow and your opponent can block the ball easily.
I would say it is very good for beginner to medium level players because it can help you build a good feeling for the backhand opening and blocks. However, if you want very good quality balls or want more power from the rubber itself, it is not very good. I just bought a piece of Stiga Manstra M to replace it for my BH, hoping it can enhance the power and spin on my BH.
