Tibhar Grass D.TecS acid green
Rubber description:
This is a long pimples rubber engineered for players who prioritize deception and spin reversal. It is particularly effective for defensive strategies such as chopping and block-pushing, offering significant disruption to the opponent’s rhythm. While highly regarded for its performance close to the table, the rubber exhibits a higher level of complexity when used for shots away from the table.
Playing Characteristics
- Deception and Reversal: Known for producing deceptive ball trajectories and high levels of spin reversal, which can frequently draw unforced errors from opponents.
- Versatility: Functions well in both OX (no sponge) and thin-sponge configurations, with thicker sponge versions providing enhanced attacking potential at the cost of increased difficulty in control.
- Consistency: The rubber is characterized by linear behavior during chops, though mastery of its unique feel requires dedicated practice and a period of adjustment.
- Durability: Offers a reliable lifespan even under intensive training schedules exceeding 80 hours per month.
Performance Notes
- Attack Potential: While primarily a defensive tool, the rubber allows for aggressive pushing and specific attacking strokes. However, executing offensive shots requires precise technique and significant training, as the margin for error is narrow compared to traditional rubbers.
- Usage: Best suited for players employing a push-blocking or classical defensive style who seek a disruptive, high-performance option for close-to-the-table play.

This is quite a beast to tame with more than 1mm of thickness, but great fun to play. Particularly, the attacking strokes are easy to execute even on such a slow and super controllable blade as Tibhar COS3. The chops take time to master but are very linear. The near or at the table game is of particular greatness.

Needs a lot of practice to master. One can get a lot of free points from opponents’ mistakes compared to other long pips. Perfect for a push block style of play.

It will suit me after some practice as I am using long pips for the first time.
