Tibhar Quantum X PRO Soft blue

Rubber description:

The Quantum X PRO Soft Blue is an inverted table tennis rubber designed for offensive players seeking a balance of speed, spin, and control. While the brand is unknown, the “PRO” designation suggests a performance-oriented rubber aimed at intermediate to advanced players. The “Soft” in the name indicates a softer sponge, likely prioritizing dwell time and control over outright speed compared to a harder sponge variant. Expect excellent spin generation capabilities, allowing for aggressive topspin drives, loops, and serves. The blue sponge color is purely aesthetic and doesn’t necessarily indicate specific performance characteristics.

Given the “Soft” designation, the Quantum X PRO Soft Blue likely offers a medium-high speed, excellent spin potential, and very good control. It’s probably well-suited for players who rely on spin variations and placement to win points, rather than pure power hitting. This rubber would be a good choice for all-around offensive players who like to loop from mid-distance, as well as those who prefer a more controlled attacking game closer to the table. The softer sponge allows for better feeling of the ball, making it easier to execute delicate shots and short game maneuvers. While the exact sponge hardness is unknown, it likely falls in the 40-45 degree range on the Shore A scale. Without knowledge of the brand, specific technologies are impossible to pinpoint, but expect a modern rubber construction with a focus on maximizing grip and energy transfer.

I bought this 1.8mm version primarily because it was available in blue, but I have taken a liking to it for the balance of control, speed, and spin (which I would rate higher than the rating it is given by Tibhar). Although it is on an all-round (custom-made) blade, it has a good catapult effect off strong drives and loops and has decent control for a kill shot. Good for service and service received despite the springy sponge. I have yet to use this in red or black, so I cannot make color comparisons.

This rubber is good for players who are a little bit far from the table. It has a nice feeling and blocking ability is also good.

Recommended for forehand, crazy spin, good control.
