The Speedy Soft D.Tecs rubber, while lacking a known manufacturer, is a long pips-out rubber designed for disruptive play. It’s characterized by its soft, flexible pips that allow for significant reversal of spin and unpredictable ball trajectories. Unlike inverted rubbers that prioritize generating spin, the Speedy Soft D.Tecs excels at absorbing incoming spin and returning the ball with a reversed rotation, often causing opponents to misjudge the ball’s bounce and trajectory. This makes it a potent weapon for blocking close to the table, chopping from mid-distance, and creating deceptive pushes and short game. The rubber prioritizes control and deception over outright speed and spin generation.
Due to its long pips and soft sponge (likely in the soft to medium-soft range), the Speedy Soft D.Tecs offers excellent control, allowing players to place the ball accurately and absorb the power of incoming attacks. It’s particularly well-suited for defensive-minded players who rely on disrupting their opponent’s rhythm and forcing errors. While not designed for aggressive topspin play, skilled players can use the rubber to generate some spin variations and create awkward angles. The D.Tecs technology likely refers to a specific pip geometry or rubber compound designed to maximize spin reversal and create a “dead” or unpredictable ball effect. This rubber is best suited for players who prioritize control, deception, and spin reversal over raw speed and spin.
Good feel for short pips and perfect for a controlled blocking game.
This is my first pimple rubber and I am just loving playing both defense and offense. Great combination rubber, really awesome.
Love this. I have been using it for about a month. I played Tenergy 05 for many years on my BH and felt like trying out something new. I got the 1.5 version, and it is actually very versatile. Very good on blocking, the ball “floats” a bit weirdly for the opponent, who needs to really get in there and spin it. Very interesting on serve receive, I feel like I can start an attack on almost any ball. Very good when finding myself in defensive positions as well. It needs a bit of adjustment coming from inverted rubbers, but it’s quite fun.
