Butterfly Innerforce ALC
Blade description:
Blade Composition and Construction
The Butterfly Innerforce ALC is a composite blade featuring a 5+2 construction. It utilizes an inner-layer design, positioning the Arylate Carbon (ALC) fibers closer to the wood core rather than directly beneath the outer plies. The wood configuration consists of a central Ayous core, two inner layers of Arylate Carbon, two layers of Limba, and two outer layers of Limba. This unique placement of the composite material allows the outer wood plies to flex more upon contact, providing a feel that closely resembles an all-wood blade.
Playing Characteristics
This blade is characterized by its high level of control and generous dwell time, making it particularly effective for loop-oriented players who rely on spin and consistent ball placement. While it maintains an OFF (offensive) classification, the speed is described as highly controllable. The inner-carbon structure provides a soft, crisp, and communicative feel that allows players to perform well in the short game and blocking, while still providing sufficient power for aggressive topspin attacks when the ball is struck firmly.
Handling and Feel
The blade is noted for its ability to forgive minor technical errors, offering a level of consistency that builds confidence during rallies. Compared to traditional outer-carbon blades, the Innerforce ALC offers a more tactile experience with less vibration. Players transitioning from all-wood blades or standard composite blades often find this model to be a well-balanced alternative, provided they are comfortable with the specific handle dimensions, which are typically slim and oval-shaped.

Top blade! After several all-wood blades (Xiom Solo, Stiga Allround, Korbel, Kong Linhui, SK7), I sought a larger sweet spot while maintaining similar control and feel. I opted for the BTY IF ALC due to its excellent control, pleasant feel, and manageable speed, accommodating both short game and fast topspin shots.
In comparison to the Viscaria IF, the IF ALC provides superior control with a softer feel but slightly reduced speed. The IF ALC allows for more forgiving play, facilitating a wider range of shots with confidence, including blocking and chopping. When paired with DHS Hurricane 3 Neo 39’ on the forehand and Xiom Vega Euro on the backhand, a well-balanced setup with both speed and control is achieved. I highly recommend the BTY IF ALC for intermediate players seeking an optimal balance of speed, control, and feel.

J’adore ce bois. Combiné à des revêtements plus durs, il permet à la balle d’aller vite et de tourner énormément. Il offre un très bon contrôle. En attaque et contre-attaque, il est génial.

I used this blade for some time and was generally satisfied. However, when I switched to the Xiom Feelzx3 and used the same rubber, I experienced a marked improvement in both control and speed. The Feelzx3 provided me with a noticeable advantage over the previous blade I had been using.
