All-wood
The Timo Boll Off- is the perfect blade for me. I consider myself a beginner/intermediate player with a rating of 1250. Thanks to the versatility of this blade, I have mastered a wide range of techniques. It strikes the perfect balance between speed and control.
I initially used EKRips soft to develop my technique. However, after a few months, I switched to a combination of Tenergy 05 on my forehand and Donic Bluefire JP03 on my backhand. This new setup has proven to be incredibly effective, enabling me to consistently defeat intermediate-level opponents who previously dominated me.
The Timo Boll Off- has significantly accelerated my progress, and I intend to continue using it even as I advance to higher skill levels. I highly recommend this blade to any player looking to improve their game. The Timo Boll Off- is undoubtedly a winner!
Con dos T05, va muy bien de topspin, control y bloqueo. Es divertido jugar con esta combinación, aunque no sea muy rápida.
Very good all-around blade. It’s better to choose this blade for an all-around game, even though it’s rated off-. It’s very easy to make loops with, excels in soft touch and block. The sweet spot is wide, and the flared handle is very comfortable to hold.
I’ve tested 2 blades with the same rubber setup, and they behaved very differently from each other.
One blade was fair, but there are a lot of better alternatives. It was quite slow; I thought it would be faster.
This blade is not off-. It is not a suitable option for beginners as it lacks power and speed. However, it does offer decent control.
Good blade, though it does lack a bit of power. Also, the balance is very even, which may take some getting used to, especially if you’re used to a head-heavy blade.
I also received a poorly constructed blade. The wooden layers deteriorated after several months of relatively light use.
I did not receive a well-built blade. The blade was not glued together properly, and the wood plies did not remain together after playing only 3 or 4 times. As a result, I broke the blade and was surprised to discover that it had a hollow handle.
I wonder if most Butterfly blades have hollow handles. I also recall reading somewhere that the Maze also had a hollow handle. This blade shares the same wood as the Acoustics and is similar in feel in some ways, although the Acoustic is slightly stiffer.
Blade Review
This blade is more strategical than offensive. It provides excellent control and allows for a wide range of spins and placements. The blade is made of high-quality wood, which gives it a solid feel and a long lifespan. The handle is comfortable to hold, and the blade is well-balanced, which makes it easy to maneuver.
Overall, this blade is a great choice for players who are looking for a blade that provides excellent control and versatility. It is also a good choice for players who are new to table tennis, as it is easy to learn how to use.
Pros:
* Excellent control * Allows for a wide range of spins and placements * Made of high-quality wood * Comfortable handle * Well-balanced
Cons:
* Not as offensive as some other blades
This is a good blade for brush looping and countering. For the price, it is worth it. It is better than I expected, but it will not be my choice for tournament use because it lacks power. It seems like the high gears are not there, but it is fun to play with because it gives the ball a nice second kick. In all, it is a great feeling blade. I bought it because of the price and didn’t expect much, but I was surprised by its performance. Also, this is a very good 5-ply all-wood blade.
