Designed for both modern offensive and defensive styles, this blade features an innovative composition that combines multiple layers of wood to achieve its high-performance qualities. With a speed rating of 8.4, it provides a perfect balance between power and finesse, allowing players to execute various strokes with confidence.

Weighing in at 85 grams, the Extension AC is considered a low-to-medium weight blade, which enhances maneuverability without compromising stability during intense rallies. Its thickness contributes to a solid feel, promoting excellent feedback on every shot. The flexibility of this blade, rated at 2.5, ensures that players can generate significant spin, particularly on topspin shots, while maintaining control during defensive plays. The hardness rating of 3.1 supports its ability to transmit energy effectively, aiding in the execution of powerful strokes.

As an alternative, players seeking similar performance characteristics might consider other Donic models or blades from rival brands that emphasize control and spin generation. However, the Extension AC stands out in its class due to its remarkable consistency, with an overall rating of 9.6 from user reviews. Many players laud its suitability for topspin play, while still offering a reliable platform for blocking and defensive maneuvers. Low throw with stiff medium hard feeling, sharp feeling. I really enjoy the craft and construction quality and wisdom of composition. Great control with MP on backhand, spinny forehand with Rakza 7 Soft. Probably the best Donic blade, yet not popular.

Despite the game’s new feel, I was surprised by the extraordinarily high level of control on all strokes, whether with FH or BH. With the BH, it is quite possible to return at the table through a block or in the half distance with an undercut. As for the FH, the pattern development was good on serve and also in topspin play. I found blocking with the FH to be quite easy, although this shot is not one of my strengths. There are certainly better woods for shooting; however, with several training sessions with this wood, that feeling would have set in.

The second test confirmed the first impressions. The AC will be an interesting blade for a pure topspin player who does not try to “shoot” balls. The moderate pace (ALL + / OFF-) is also pleasant. Due to the wood’s low weight, the club is not too heavy overall.

Very sharp feeling and very spinny, great for modern defense.
