Donic Extension Green Carbon

Gorgeous (Walnut, Ayous, Aramid Carbon Fiber, Awan) blade excels in all aspects, providing a great blend of wood and carbon fiber. This is my first experience with a walnut outer ply blade.

Weighing 96 grams, the blade combines with Tibhar Evolution MX-P Max rubbers on both sides to achieve a total weight of 199 grams, ideal for the modern game. While it offers similar performance to my preferred Donic Waldner WC89 OFF inner-fiber blade in terms of speed and control, it produces a distinct sound due to its unique wood and composite layer composition.

The blade’s power can be adjusted based on the chosen rubbers. Its well-balanced design showcases exceptional quality and craftsmanship, featuring a smooth, satin-like finish. The flared handle fits perfectly in my hand, providing a comfortable and polished grip.

Despite its top-notch construction and green carbon fiber (Kevlar) finish, I’m surprised by the lack of feedback on this remarkable blade. It facilitates effortless blocking and ball placement, providing great touch and feel. The blade excels in a variety of techniques, including looping, pushing, smashing, and open-ups.

However, it does require proficient skill and technique to fully utilize its potential. For those seeking a high-quality inner-fiber blade, I highly recommend this option. It rivals the standards of expensive Butterfly blades at an affordable price.

From the moment I held the blade, its exceptional quality was evident. It’s an ideal choice for the modern table tennis game. While it seems to be in short supply for some reason, its distinct green handle, lens, and carbon fiber provide a unique identity. Its striking appearance complements its excellent feel.
