Nittaku Acoustic Carbon Inner
Blade description:
Playing Characteristics and Build
The Nittaku Acoustic Carbon Inner is a composite blade featuring a 5+2 construction. By placing the carbon layers closer to the core, the blade retains a distinct, natural wooden feel similar to all-wood blades, prioritizing feedback and touch during slower exchanges. It is characterized by its high level of control in the short game and a flexible, vibration-rich nature that provides clear physical feedback upon contact.
Performance and Feel
While it offers a soft, wood-like sensation during delicate play, the carbon layers activate specifically during aggressive, high-impact strokes, providing a noticeable surge in power and a catapult effect. This dual nature allows players to maintain stability during touch shots while still possessing the capacity to finish points with speed when necessary. The blade produces a medium throw angle and a long, fast trajectory, rewarding players with refined technique.
Ergonomics and Handling
- Construction: 5+2 composite (inner carbon).
- Feel: Soft, wood-like, with significant flex and vibration feedback.
- Suitability: Performs best when looping, but is versatile enough for blocking, chopping, and flat hitting.
- Balance: Often described as head-heavy, despite a generally light overall weight.
- Handle: The handle design is notably thinner than many other professional blades, which may be more suitable for players with smaller hands.
- Craftsmanship: High-quality finish with excellent durability and a reputation for consistent performance.

This paddle provides excellent control and lots of speed for a dynamic game.
It gives me everything I need for my style, which is a close-to-the-table game based on offensive smash and spin. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

I like this blade. It has good control and power when needed. Plus, it’s a good quality Nittaku!

This blade provides all the control you need.
However, for intermediate and advanced players, the blade feels too slow, especially when driving open against chop serves. You get a crisp feel when you hit flat, and the inner layers seem to activate on flat shots, likely versus topspin.
