Nittaku Gyo-En
Blade description:
The Nittaku Gyo-en is an outer-composite blade featuring 5+2 construction that incorporates KVC3, a specialized carbon material. It is designed to bridge the gap between composite power and natural wooden feel, offering a tactile sensation often compared to all-wood blades during delicate touches. The blade is noted for its high-quality construction and a lightweight profile, with reports of weights typically ranging between 78 and 82 grams.
Playing Characteristics
- Feel and Feedback: The KVC3 material provides a softer, more dwell-oriented feel than traditional Arylate Carbon (ALC) blades. This allows players to “grab” the ball, facilitating easier spin generation during topspin rallies.
- Performance Dynamics: The blade exhibits a dual-natured response. It provides predictable, wood-like control during touch shots and delicate play near the table. When high force is applied, the composite layers engage, resulting in a linear, high-velocity output suitable for mid-to-far distance play.
- Consistency: Despite the high top-end speed, the blade maintains a high level of feedback, ensuring that players receive clear vibration data upon ball impact. It is well-suited for users who prefer the speed of outer-composite blades but require the dwell time and spin accessibility typically associated with high-end wooden setups.

This blade is a bit slower than outer ALC blades. However, the control is better than those ALC blades. My blade weighs only 78 grams. I like it very much.

This blade strikes a balance between the feel of ALC Carbon and wood. Its speed is comparable to the Super ALC.
When playing delicately near the table, it offers superb control, similar to a wooden blade. However, when full power is applied, it delivers an incredibly fast, carbon-like response.
Furthermore, this blade makes it easier to generate spin compared to the Super ALC.

Nice, well-made blade.
I bought this for a friend. He liked the feel of the blade but wasn’t so keen on the rubbers he chose to pair with it.
