Nittaku S-series S-KC
Blade description:
This composite blade features a 3+2 construction and is manufactured in Germany to Nittaku specifications. It typically weighs around 85 grams and is noted for its high-quality finish and balance. While some users describe the blade as fast, hard, and direct, others report a softer feel, suggesting that the perception of speed and stiffness can vary significantly depending on the rubber selection and the player’s individual technique.
Playing Characteristics
- Feel and Dwell: The blade is generally characterized by a medium-large sweet spot and distinct feedback. Users who prefer a crisp, direct contact find it efficient for aggressive loops and blocking, while others experience a softer, more dampened sensation that aids in controlled, touch-oriented play.
- Performance: It is highly regarded for close-to-the-table and mid-distance play, offering significant spin potential and a low arc on offensive strokes. The blade performs well when paired with medium-to-hard sponges, which help extract more speed and reactivity from the composite structure.
- Versatility: Feedback indicates the blade is effective for a variety of styles, including spin-heavy looping and offensive long-pips play. While some players encounter challenges with precise short-game consistency or extreme distance play, others find the balance between power and control to be well-suited for a solid offensive game.

This is a wonderful bat made in Germany but to Nittaku’s specifications. It’s good for close-to-table play.
However, it is not recommended for mid- or far-distance play as it is too soft and slow.

Good quality blade with nice speed and sound. To maximize speed and spin, it should be used with medium-hard sponges.
I personally prefer applying lacquer to the edges of my blades rather than using a plastic band.

Full of expectations, I bought this Nittaku blade to push my game to the next level. However, I am bitterly disappointed with the playing characteristics and feeling of the blade.
I tried the blade with the Joola Maxxx-P and the Nittaku Fastarc-G1, both in max. Surprisingly, despite the medium+ rubbers, the blade plays far too soft and is too slow for an Off+ blade. I would rate it as Off-. Every other Off+ blade I have played has been significantly faster than the S-KC (Andro CL, Butterfly Photino light, Joola Nobilis, TSP Balsa 8.5 etc).
The blade has good control in offensive play and blocking due to the very soft feeling. When pushing, it seems inconsistent and difficult to control.
Really positive is the workmanship and the balance of the blade.
Overall, it is not fast enough, not hard enough, and not what it meant to be from the marketing prose.
