Composite/carbon
Full of expectations, I bought this Nittaku blade to push my game to the next level. However, I am bitterly disappointed with the playing characteristics and feeling of the blade.
I tried the blade with the Joola Maxxx-P and the Nittaku Fastarc-G1, both in max. Surprisingly, despite the medium+ rubbers, the blade plays far too soft and is too slow for an Off+ blade. I would rate it as Off-. Every other Off+ blade I have played has been significantly faster than the S-KC (Andro CL, Butterfly Photino light, Joola Nobilis, TSP Balsa 8.5 etc).
The blade has good control in offensive play and blocking due to the very soft feeling. When pushing, it seems inconsistent and difficult to control.
Really positive is the workmanship and the balance of the blade.
Overall, it is not fast enough, not hard enough, and not what it meant to be from the marketing prose.
Soulspin made this blade. The blade came in at 85 grams and has a medium-large sweet spot. It feels light and powerful. I used 2.0 Nittaku FastArc g-1 on both sides. As mentioned in other reviews, which were scant, it’s pretty direct and has a good feel. It’s faster than the Hurricane Long 3/5 that I have used with the same rubbers, and the control is only marginally less than those blades but faster. I was able to produce plenty of spin when needed, brush the ball on soft shots, and power loop when needed too. It’s a very versatile blade for close-mid-game and only struggles with over 3 meters away from the table. Otherwise, it’s a great mid-distance machine. My backhands have never been better than with this blade. It gives wicked spin and a low arc that is impossible for the opponent to touch. It has a great short game, serves were easy, and touch shots struggle just a bit, but it’s user error. It’s only a bit bouncy but not out of bounds for its speed. This blade may be a magical wonder blade with rubbers like T05 or T05 hard on it. Anyway, I highly recommend this blade for its price. It feels great in the hand, has great feedback, minimal unwanted vibrations, and the ability to grip and then hit are easy and dangerous for the opponent. 9.4 out of 10. I would recommend this to those who want to find a decently priced composite blade without breaking the bank.
This is a wonderful bat made in Germany but to Nittaku’s specifications. It’s good for close-to-table play.
However, it is not recommended for mid- or far-distance play as it is too soft and slow.
Good quality blade with nice speed and sound. To maximize speed and spin, it should be used with medium-hard sponges.
I personally prefer applying lacquer to the edges of my blades rather than using a plastic band.
I have two Nittaku S-KC paddles. The first paddle has smooth rubbers on both sides (Tibhar MX-P 2.2mm). My experience with this setup is similar to that of other reviewers.
My second paddle has Nittaku Fastarc G-1 (MAX) on one side and DHS Fog & Cloud 3 (OX) on the other. I have quite a few paddles with long pips OX rubber on one side (about 10). The common problem with these paddles is that the smooth rubber side seems to have less power than a setup with two smooth rubbers using the same blade. Furthermore, when I hit the ball using the smooth rubber close to the tip of the paddle instead of the center, the paddle tends to vibrate a lot more.
By using Nittaku Fastarc G-1 (MAX), my paddle has a lot of power. Furthermore, when I hit the ball close to the tip of the Fastarc G-1, the blade exhibits little vibration. In addition, I can hit very well with my OX rubber from both forehand and backhand. I highly recommend this setup for offensive long pips OX players.
This blade is very fast, and I am still getting used to it. It excels at playing from mid-distance and far away from the table.
Short blocks and pushes are not its strength, but it performs exceptionally well with hard strokes. Its speed might be too much for some, especially when paired with fast, medium-hard rubbers, such as Rakza 9 on the forehand and Rasanter R48 on the backhand, as I have done.
Overall, it makes for a very good offensive racket.
85 grams, flared handle, beautiful handle and finish.
Paired with Cornilleau Target Pro GT47H 2.0 FH and Fastarc G-1 BH 2.0.
This blade is a beast. It feels soft on safe touches, blocks, and top sheet brushing. It allows for absolutely spinny, low, hard, and direct loops that always clear the net perfectly. Blocking is a piece of cake with absolute control while relaxing. It is easy to serve, loop, push, and block. The only issue encountered could be opening up is a bit more difficult unless you plan and know your angles. It just felt right when I played with it.
This blade is meant for a solid OFF player who uses placement, spin, and speed reserves when needed. I have played with Hurricane Long 3, Long 5, TBALC, JMZLC, and Nobilis. This blade has the best qualities of each one for 2/3 the price.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try composites and wants safety, speed, and touch at their disposal. Enter the new champion, and an affordable one too.
Fast, hard, and controllable blade with a short dwell time.
