Blade description:

Construction and Build

This is a composite blade featuring a 5+2 construction, integrating Zylon fiber and spruce wood. Manufactured in Germany, the blade is widely noted for its exceptional craftsmanship, aesthetic appeal, and high-quality finish. It typically weighs between 81g and 88g and features a standard head size (157×150mm).

Playing Characteristics

The blade is classified as an offensive model that balances speed with high levels of control and touch. It offers a distinct, woody feel with a noticeable dwell time, allowing for high spin generation, particularly in loop-heavy styles. While it remains stable during offensive play, it provides enough flex to support a medium-high throw angle, making it effective for lifting backspin and executing loops close to the table.

Performance and Feedback

The Zylon composite layer provides a crisp response without excessive vibration, though some users report a mild, non-intrusive feedback during high-impact shots. Performance is often described as reliable and predictable, favoring a spin-oriented game. Depending on the specific weight of the blade, its performance can range from a close-to-the-table control specialist to a more powerful option capable of mid-distance play. It is highly compatible with a variety of rubber types, including sticky Chinese rubbers and modern medium-hard tension rubbers.

This blade inspires confidence and feels very good to play with.

It’s so good that I ordered another one. It’s almost identical to the Donic Appelgren WC 89, and I now have two of those as well.

This way, I have two identical setups to play with and two additional blades to experiment with.

Thanks TT11 once again for great service.

Cheers,

This is a really nice blade. It’s an outer-ply blade but not too fast, offering a little flex and great vibration feedback. Currently, it’s my favorite. I prefer this one over the Basaltec Inner.

My only complaint is the handle size; it’s too small, so I use grip tape.

And again, thank you, TT11, for the excellent service.

Cheers,
L-zr.
