All-wood
This blade had a soft feeling and grabbed the ball securely. This enabled excellent control. The upper part of the FL grip was narrow, while the width was thick enough. This grip allowed me to easily perform backhand flick and forehand/backhand changes.
I felt that this blade was suitable for players who prioritize spin and safety over speed and power. It would be a great fit for all-round players who want to play with their own power, emphasizing high accuracy and safety.
Previously, I used the BTY Lin Gaoyuan blade, which offered more speed and power but slightly less control and accuracy than this blade. I prefer the Xiom 3.65 Alxi for gameplay and enjoy the rallies it creates.
This blade is excellent. Mine is FL, with a nice grip, and the handle is comfortable for big hands. The plate is 157x150mm, and mine weighs 85 grams. The frequency is 1356 - 1378 Hz.
In the past, I’ve used Joola Vyzaryz Freeze, BTY Viscaria, Freitas, Korbel, Hadraw VK, and Primorac. I’m trying to adapt to an inner carbon type of blade, seeking more control while keeping a reasonably fast blade. I think the ALXi delivers, because the feeling of the ball is excellent, yet the speed of the blade is high, at the level of Viscaria, confirming some impressions found on the web. I can attack with confidence even far from the table; the power is there when you need it.
I’ve paired it with Dynaryz ACC max on fh and Dynaryz ACC 2.0 on BH. I’m changing from this setup to DNA Platinum M max on fh and nexxus el pro 48 2.1 on bh, so I will update the review.
The feel is similar to the Stiga Clipper Wood or Butterfly SK7 Power, making it a very powerful blade.
However, the blade requires more “break” or dwell time to control the arc of topspin shots.
It is well-suited for attacking after the serve, executing forehand power shots, and delivering aggressive, direct attacks due to its hard feel.
I used this blade last season and was very happy with it. It’s a blade with great feeling, especially when you engage well on your shots.
I was looking for something still fast but with a good amount of control and great feeling. I would even say the feeling is better than the Harimoto ALC.
The dwell time is great, and the control is top-notch. You can generate shots with a great amount of spin from this blade. If you like inner carbon blades or are thinking of moving from all-wood to carbon, you won’t regret this one!
Excellent.
Positive:
The blade is very powerful when applying force for topspin. Control on both sides is excellent.
Negative:
Soft hits can feel numb. More strength is needed to attack effectively. If your skill level isn’t high, choose this blade carefully.
Excellent build quality. It’s a typical Innerforce construction but with a fairly stiff outer ply, despite that outer ply being limba.
This blade is unstable during play. It performs normally with soft hits and blocks. However, with strong hits, control is lost, and the ball goes unpredictably. The blade seems to flex, making it unclear where the ball will land. I gave it to a 6-year-old who can’t hit hard yet, and it’s suitable for him. I do not recommend it.
Exactly as expected. Very pleased.
