Blade description:

The Xiom Vega Pro is a highly regarded table tennis blade, renowned for its versatility and exceptional performance characteristics. Constructed with a unique blend of limba outer plies, zephylium carbon, ayous, and kiri, this five-ply blade offers a dynamic feel that combines speed and control seamlessly. It is designed for serious players seeking to enhance their offensive game while maintaining precision and consistency in their strokes.

With a weight averaging around 90g and a thickness of 5.8mm, the Vega Pro falls into the medium weight category, which contributes to its balanced playability. The blade showcases a moderate level of flexibility, making it suitable for both aggressive attackers and players who prefer a more controlled style of play. The combination of its stiff carbon layer and the softer outer wood lends a substantial feel, allowing for excellent touch and finesse during rallies.

In terms of performance, the Vega Pro has garnered a reputation for its speed and control, with both attributes rated at 9 out of 10. Players have praised its forgiving sweet spot and consistency, enabling them to execute sharp angles and powerful loops with minimal error. While it may not be the absolute fastest blade available, its exceptional control and feel are often highlighted as key advantages over more extreme models. As an alternative, players might explore other options like the Donic Viscaria or Stiga Carbonado series, which offer similar characteristics but cater to varied play styles.

Overall, the Xiom Vega Pro stands out as a premium choice for advanced players looking to elevate their game with a blade that perfectly balances speed and control.

It is a little faster than the average rating. Very good wood. Well controlled off-attacker. Nicely crafted racket and the box is also elegant. The composite layer increases stability and the edge is easy to play. The handle is a bit thin. Nice and good quality, it’s a pity that they are no longer produced.

Vega Pro Review I have been playing with the Vega Pro for a few months now and I really like it. It’s flexible and doesn’t feel stiff at all, despite having a carbon layer. The layers are as follows: limba — zephylium carbon — ayous — kiri — ayous — zephylium carbon — limba.

I got the FL handle, which weighs 86 g. The top of the handle is a bit thin, so people with large hands might prefer a bigger handle. The wings are a bit sharp, which can be uncomfortable when serving. I recommend sanding them down.

If you prefer topspin, you have to try this blade. It has some gears and both slow topspin packed with spin as well as fast shooting topspin is possible. Due to its flex, I wouldn’t recommend too soft rubbers and/or rubbers with a high catapult. The latest ESN tensors with high catapult gave me some unpredictable shots from time to time.

The quality of the blade is not the best to be honest. Some carbon fibers are sticking out, which I had to cut off. Overall, it’s a very decent blade, suited for topspin-oriented players.

I love this blade. The control is linear with its capability in speed. I always love the feel and character of Xiom blades, which mine is Xiom Vega Pro and Omega Pro blades. Despite some issues with the finishing on the edges of the blade, overall this blade has a great design and finishing.
