Xiom Vega Pro
Blade description:
The Xiom Vega Pro is a composite blade featuring a 5+2 construction (Limba-Zephylium Carbon-Ayous-Kiri-Ayous-Zephylium Carbon-Limba). Designed as an offensive-oriented blade, it offers a distinct “woody” feel that prioritizes touch and feedback over excessive stiffness. Despite the presence of carbon layers, the blade is characterized by its flexibility, providing a medium-soft feel that allows for significant dwell time, which benefits players who rely on spin-heavy loop drives.
Playing Characteristics
- Speed and Feel: Positioned in the OFF-/OFF range, it provides reliable speed without being overly aggressive. It offers a linear relationship between input effort and output speed, contributing to a high level of consistency.
- Control and Stability: The blade is noted for its exceptional control, particularly in short-game play and blocking. The composite layers provide a stable sweet spot, and the throw angle is generally considered medium to medium-high, remaining consistent regardless of impact intensity.
- Weight and Balance: The blade is typically lightweight and well-balanced, making it maneuverable for fast exchanges.
- Rubber Compatibility: Due to its flexible nature, it pairs effectively with a wide range of modern tensors. Some users note that it may perform less predictably with very high-catapult ESN tensors or certain harder Chinese-style rubbers.
Construction and Handling
- Ergonomics: The handle shape can vary in feel, with some users finding it slightly thin; players with larger hands may find it necessary to adjust their grip or add overgrip. Some users also report that the wing areas can be sharp, occasionally requiring light sanding for optimal comfort.
- Finish Quality: While the blade is highly regarded for its performance, reports indicate that the factory finish can be inconsistent, with some users noting sharp edges or protruding fibers that may require minor grooming. Structural durability can be a concern for some, as the outer plies have been reported to splinter or separate during rubber removal or high-impact collisions.

It is a little faster than the average rating. Very good wood. Well controlled off-attacker. Nicely crafted racket and the box is also elegant. The composite layer increases stability and the edge is easy to play. The handle is a bit thin. Nice and good quality, it’s a pity that they are no longer produced.

Vega Pro Review I have been playing with the Vega Pro for a few months now and I really like it. It’s flexible and doesn’t feel stiff at all, despite having a carbon layer. The layers are as follows: limba - zephylium carbon - ayous - kiri - ayous - zephylium carbon - limba.
I got the FL handle, which weighs 86 g. The top of the handle is a bit thin, so people with large hands might prefer a bigger handle. The wings are a bit sharp, which can be uncomfortable when serving. I recommend sanding them down.
If you prefer topspin, you have to try this blade. It has some gears and both slow topspin packed with spin as well as fast shooting topspin is possible. Due to its flex, I wouldn’t recommend too soft rubbers and/or rubbers with a high catapult. The latest ESN tensors with high catapult gave me some unpredictable shots from time to time.
The quality of the blade is not the best to be honest. Some carbon fibers are sticking out, which I had to cut off. Overall, it’s a very decent blade, suited for topspin-oriented players.

I love this blade. The control is linear with its capability in speed. I always love the feel and character of Xiom blades, which mine is Xiom Vega Pro and Omega Pro blades. Despite some issues with the finishing on the edges of the blade, overall this blade has a great design and finishing.
