Blade description:

The Xiom Hayabusa ZXi is a high-performance, composite offensive blade utilizing a 5+2 construction. It is designed for aggressive, attack-oriented players who prioritize spin generation and power from both mid and long-distance ranges. The blade is characterized by a very large, uniform sweet spot, which provides high levels of consistency and feedback during offensive play.

Playing Characteristics

  • Speed and Feel: The blade is fast and delivers a hard, crisp feel with a distinctive “click” upon impact. Despite its high top-end speed, many players note a surprising amount of dwell time for a composite blade, which aids in spin production. While some users describe the vibration levels as noticeable, others find the feedback helps them precisely track ball contact.
  • Control: Although it is an OFF+ category blade, it offers balanced control for an aggressive setup. It performs effectively in the short game and blocking, though users may need an adjustment period to manage its inherent bounciness and speed.
  • Weight and Build: The blade is generally thin and can range from very light to head-heavy depending on the individual unit and the weight of the rubbers applied. Some users may find it necessary to sand the handle wings, as the factory edges can feel sharp.
  • Suitability: It is highly compatible with modern tension-style rubbers and hybrid rubbers. It is particularly effective for looping, smashing, and powerful topspin rallies. The blade is considered demanding, making it a better fit for experienced players capable of handling high-speed equipment.

Interesting blade. At first, it seems to be very fast and uncontrollable after JJ SZLC. But after a couple of training hours, it seems quite fast and controllable. It supports your aggressive style and asks you to attack. The attacks are fast even from uncomfortable balls. If you play an all-around game, then I don’t recommend this blade; it has too short a dwell time for this. Plays well with Chinese and hybrid rubbers. I play with BigDipper 4 on FH and Fastarc G-1 (Tenergy 05 and Bluefier M2) on BH.

Butterfly Timo Boll ALC

Best Blade overall. Spin, Smash, Control. 10/10.

Review:

The Butterfly Timo Boll ALC blade is an excellent choice for any player. It offers a great balance of spin, smash, and control, making it ideal for a wide range of playing styles. The ALC (Arylate-Carbon) construction gives the blade a nice balance between power and control, while the outer plies of limba wood provide excellent feel and touch.

The Butterfly Timo Boll ALC is a very versatile blade that can be used for both attacking and defensive play. It is also a very durable blade, so it can withstand even the most intense matches.

Overall, the Butterfly Timo Boll ALC is an excellent choice for any player looking for a high-quality table tennis blade. It offers a great balance of power and control, and it is durable enough to withstand even the most intense matches.
