Xiom Diva
Blade description:
The Xiom Diva is an all-wood, 5-ply construction blade designed to bridge the gap between all-round control and offensive capabilities. It is characterized by a crisp, direct feel and a high degree of predictability, making it an effective tool for players focusing on technique development or those who prefer a controlled, spin-oriented game.
Playing Characteristics
- Feel and Control: The blade offers a large sweet spot and excellent feedback, which is particularly beneficial for blocking and short-game precision. While some users describe it as having a “bouncy” or non-linear nature depending on the pairing, it is widely recognized for its consistent, controllable performance.
- Stiffness and Speed: Despite being a 5-ply wood blade, it exhibits a stiffer, more direct nature than many traditional all-wood alternatives. It performs best in close-to-the-table play, blocking, and driving. While it provides sufficient pace for controlled attacks, it lacks the raw top-end speed required for aggressive, long-distance play, often requiring the user to exert more physical effort to generate power.
- Weight and Balance: The blade is generally lightweight and well-balanced. Some setups may result in a slightly head-heavy distribution, which can add a touch of extra momentum during aggressive shots. The handle design is noted for its comfort, particularly for those with wider hands, and is available in flared and straight options to suit different grip preferences.

Solid Off- speed and great spin are hallmarks of this blade, though control isn’t its strongest suit. Xiom maintains its reputation for brilliant quality with this equipment. My blade had an 85-gram straight handle and felt slightly head-heavy. The handle was fairly flat (29mm x 22mm), but comfortable in hand. I paired it with Xiom Vega Europe rubber on both sides.
My wife (USATT 900) and I (USATT 1300) both used the blade during several practice sessions to gain a better understanding of its play. We found it to be bouncy, and its flexibility contributes to a somewhat non-linear feel. However, with patience to learn the blade’s nuances, you’ll discover a great looping blade with amazing speed potential.
In summary, the blade offers a crisp feel and is well-suited for aggressive, spin-oriented play. However, its bounciness and non-linearity make it less suitable for impatient beginners.

Nice blade with a lot of control, especially for those who prefer OFF- speed blades.
It’s also a great value for the quality.
